The People's Hero Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 I'll be honest, I love it but it absolutely destroys me. Best enjoyed with some strong cheese, bread and a box of painkillers next to your bed in the morning.
Zingari Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 i can't be trusted with port , it's just sooooooo gooooooood , i reckon it's the drink of the gods or the devil himself
Darkzzz_ Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 Me and Port do not get on. I have tried to love her but she keeps turning on me. What a bitch!
fox123 Posted 10 December 2008 Author Posted 10 December 2008 Yes agreed with the Strong Cheese I actually might get some crusty bread on way home from work, this is a 1988 beauty so the Cheese and bread have to match the quality.

Maybe some of that Mexicana cheese. I've only had it once but it went unbelievably well with some good red wine. The added spice of the cheese. Heaven.

Zingari Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 which way is one expected to pass the port ? not that i intend to
The People's Hero Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 I was just thinking of a smashing Mexican cheese I enjoyed last week with a few bottles of Rioja. The night was fantastic, but the next day didn't go so well. I'm almost tempted to post the pics of the weekend when we ran up a huge bill in a London bar, drinking wine and eating cheese. It all went tits up when we 'borrowed' a bottle of wine from the next table. We thought they'd left.
fox123 Posted 10 December 2008 Author Posted 10 December 2008 I decided on some Grana Padano from the Deli counter and some crusty bread to go with it.
Finnegan Posted 10 December 2008 Posted 10 December 2008 Port + Strong Cheese = You're going to have baaaare fucked up dreams.

fox123 Posted 11 December 2008 Author Posted 11 December 2008 Sounds good.Portentially. Clever. I must admit I have over indulged tonight on the Cheese, that was superb along with the Port itself. I would recommend anyone who has a decent Port to put in a Carafe to aerate it prior to serving.

Port and Brandy is a totally brilliant drink (50:50 mix), I've had a few great/bad nights on it. The landlord of our company has just delivered a bottle of martell for christmas so I'd better go and find some port.
