Libertine Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Hey, got some monies for Christmas and am on the lookout for a new game fer t'PS3. Any ideas? Preferably something interesting and original, all these shooter games etc are the same.
morris1234 Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 fallout 3 is a cracking game i have also recently purchased race driver grid after craving for a driving game and thats a damn good game aswell!
Phube Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 LittleBigPlanet is the only PS3 game I can think of that needs owning!?
Libertine Posted 15 December 2008 Author Posted 15 December 2008 LittleBigPlanet is the only PS3 game I can think of that needs owning!? Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiing. Change thy record and so forth.
Phube Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing. Change thy record and so forth. You own it yet?
Fox You Forest Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 You own it yet? I can't see the appeal myself and would never consider purchasing such a game.
Samilktray Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Little Big Planet got slated harshly by a few lads at College today. The words, pathetic, pointless and lame were prominent in the barrage of abuse.

Must... have... guns... or... cars... or football.... @ casual gamers!!
Samilktray Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 God bless the casual gamer. Where sales figures are an irrelevant detail in making a game enjoyable.
Legend_in_blue Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 I have Prince of Persia. You could go for that. It's a refreshing change and it's easy to get into. If you're looking for something older, you can't go wrong with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Heavenly Sword might also be worth a punt. Both of those are pretty cheap now they are platinum. Ratchet and Clank is also worth a go. If you're into RPGs, with a twist, then go for Folklore. I tried the demo and it was pretty unique, but I haven't tried the full game yet. Devil May Cry 4 is also quite good if you like your action/beat 'em up type games. As for racers, as somebody has mentioned, you can't go wrong with Racedriver GRID or you could try Colin McCrae Rally DIRT, which is based on the same game engine. You should be able to get both of those at a cheapish price. Hope that helps.
Fox You Forest Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Must... have... guns... or... cars... or football.... @ casual gamers!! Give up, Mario is never going to love you the way you love him.
Libertine Posted 15 December 2008 Author Posted 15 December 2008 Lulz @ Geekwad Gamarz. I'm hardly a casual gamer tbh. I like the look of LBP, but I've only got £50 currently, and there are other games I'd be better off getting I imagine.

Daggers Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 I can't see the appeal myself and would never consider purchasing such a game. If I had £300 to throw away then I'd buy a PS3 just for that game. Unless I could steal it for free.

But you'd have played them games (or similar variations on the EXACT same brown/grey theme), go crazy and try something different
Guest Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Phube is correct on the Littlebigplanet front, it's a quality game. I'm liking the look of the new Sonic game on PS3 too, and Streetfighter 4 (although that's not released until Feb)
Libertine Posted 15 December 2008 Author Posted 15 December 2008 I'm sure it is, but it's not the sort of game I want to be shelling out the little monies I have for. I also have doubts about it's longevity/lastability.

isaidno Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Motorstorm 2, one of the best racing games ever
