Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 And when was the last time any of them played, 17/18 years ago? Yes, a very long time. The only real name that jumps out at me since then is Ally McCoist and did he fail in English football with Sunderland? Yes he did.No disrespect to Scottish people and footballers but the SPL and the STANDARD of Scottish football is very much the same as League 1/2. If Celtic and Rangers were to join the Premiership they would finish 14/15th. The standard is simply not good enough. All you have to do is go through the Celtic team and notice that the likes of Gary Caldwell, Scott Mcdonald and Shaun Maloney to name a few were just not good enough for English football and other first-teamers include Glenn Loovens and Lee Naylor, fairly average Championship players and obviously Giorgios Samaras, shall I go any further? And we are at that standard now. So explain why this would be a bad signing.
Father Ted Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 And we are at that standard now. So explain why this would be a bad signing. One main question, why do we need him?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 One main question, why do we need him? I know it's not happening but the fake deal mentioned a part exchange with a striker. It would solve the issue over Fryatt's inability to sign a bloody contract.
Fosse Boy Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 TBH, I've had enough of flipping Scottish footballers! The standard of Scottish football is shocking, George Boyd is top scorer and Samaras 2nd top scorer! Shows the standards really! Anybody remember Joe Hamill, Stephen Hughes, Mark De Vries, Alan Maybury and Rab 'Scotland's no. 1' Douglas? Were they not all top players in the SPL, then they came to us and were simply not good enough for the SECOND division. How this player can be linked with Real Madrid is beyond me!!!!!!!! Yes, playing for Peterborough, that famous Scottish outfit. I'm guessing you mean Kris Boyd who, like most Scottish players, was obscenely good on FM 05.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Hi Foxes, I`m a Hibs fan and glad to meet you all, and some of us have been hearing rumours about a possible January deal between our clubs. It`s being kept very quiet up here, as Hibs are a very secretive club historically, but this is the story. We are "informed" that a deal is about to be struck taking our stunning young striker Steven Fletcher to you guys, in a cash plus part-exchange deal with your own Matty Fryatt. Without sounding rude, who is he? What position does he play? What is his value? I ask, as Fletcher is possibly the best young talent in Scotland right now, and even the Hibs forums are keeping very quiet about this. Have you heard anything? p.s. Steven Fletcher is being touted by Glasgow Rangers at the moment, but has made it clear he wants to go south. He is rated at £4-5 million (which as you know is cheap, compared to values down there. I heard this from a Hibs insider/family relative, and we are quite worried. Thoughts please? Callum. Hi Callum. Matty Fryatt has just signed a new contract so that story might be away with the fairies.
RAFRUDY Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 The whole rumour is a load of bollocks especially now Fryatt HAS signed a new deal till 2012. nNot even worth talking about it! :city:

Samilktray Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Im sure that ourselves and Leyton Orient would be a match for anyone in the Champions League. We should take Celtic and Rangers place in it next year.
