"Just off the phone to a mate who knows Fletch, a done deal. It involves exchange with a Leicester player apparently. Dead gen."

"Heard this tonight, there is an exchange deal agreed. Fletcher to Leics but dunno who the Foxes player is."

"I was told ths by a usually reliable source earlier tonight."

Must've told him the same pack of lies we told Tunchev.

He's bloody English! Born in Shrewsbury.

Scored 6 in 19 in the SPL played for Scotland twice this year, too good for us just like the Tunch

lol

In a Manwell Pablo-esque statement, I will personally run shirtless up Gallowtree Gate with "EARNSHAW IS TOSS" written on my chest if Steven Fletcher comes to League One Leicester p/e for Fryatt.

Absolutely. No. Fucking. Chance.

This is the most sensible post in this thread.

TBH, I've had enough of flipping Scottish footballers! The standard of Scottish football is shocking, George Boyd is top scorer and Samaras 2nd top scorer! Shows the standards really! Anybody remember Joe Hamill, Stephen Hughes, Mark De Vries, Alan Maybury and Rab 'Scotland's no. 1' Douglas? Were they not all top players in the SPL, then they came to us and were simply not good enough for the SECOND division. How this player can be linked with Real Madrid is beyond me!!!!!!!!

Steven Fletcher is in a different league to Stephen Hughes.

It's insulting to Fletcher to have his name mentioned in the same breath as that "player."

Hibs have got alot of players that I wouldn't mind here, Colin Nish would do the business at this level as well.

But they're both Scottish, this surely means that they are of equal abilty? bit like Alan Shearer and Jamie Forrester.

Matt's well clever.

This man's right! There's never been a good Scottish player EVER! Kenny Dalglish? Dennis Law? Alan Hansen? All RUBBISH! Steve Fletcher is not good enough to be linked with Real Madrid! I don't care if I know nothing about him and I've never seen him play, HE'S SCOTTISH AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS.

Alan Maybury really wasn't that bad.

And when was the last time any of them played, 17/18 years ago? Yes, a very long time. The only real name that jumps out at me since then is Ally McCoist and did he fail in English football with Sunderland? Yes he did.

No disrespect to Scottish people and footballers but the SPL and the STANDARD of Scottish football is very much the same as League 1/2. If Celtic and Rangers were to join the Premiership they would finish 14/15th. The standard is simply not good enough. All you have to do is go through the Celtic team and notice that the likes of Gary Caldwell, Scott Mcdonald and Shaun Maloney to name a few were just not good enough for English football and other first-teamers include Glenn Loovens and Lee Naylor, fairly average Championship players and obviously Giorgios Samaras, shall I go any further?
