Edmund Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 nice and constructive!? @ jimmy didn't realise it was called the express and star, never heard of it before.
Rocky Dennis Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 he has as shown by the fact about 15 specialist right backs failed to dislodge him from the team He may well be class this season, but for me he was as poor as anyone in the last couple of seasons for us! The aimless hoofs down the right wing and pointless Cruyff turns in our own half didnt make him look like a good player to me!! Good luck to the lad tho, does he kiss the Wolves badge yet??
Jimmy Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 nice and constructive!?@ jimmy didn't realise it was called the express and star, never heard of it before. it's their version of the Mercury
Rocky Dennis Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 nice and constructive!?@ jimmy didn't realise it was called the express and star, never heard of it before. What?? Im allowed to think it funny that anyone thinks Stearman has "always been a good player" Cos he aint..
Edmund Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 What??Im allowed to think it funny that anyone thinks Stearman has "always been a good player" Cos he aint.. Well clearly is as he is doing well with wolves. I think your just bitter.
The People's Hero Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 All our best midfielders have been called Mark.
Simi Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 Well clearly is as he is doing well with wolves. I think your just bitter. The fact that he's doing well with Wolves doesn't mean he's always been a good player.
Edmund Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 The fact that he's doing well with Wolves doesn't mean he's always been a good player. No but he is now? Im not saying he played amazing for us at all times I just said he was a good player for us. Jesus it's like driving continuously round a roundabout
Father Ted Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 Quality player. Hopefully we can keep him. As for Stearman, I knew we should never have let him go... Oh well, we got Tunch instead now
Simi Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 No but he is now? Im not saying he played amazing for us at all times I just said he was a good player for us. Jesus it's like driving continuously round a roundabout You said he had always been a good player for us, the truth is two seasons ago and the start of last season, he wasn't. That was the point.

Simi Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 It must just be me that read "always has been a good player" differently then.
Jimmy Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 It must just be me that read "always has been a good player" differently then. he has always been a good player, maybe he didn't always show it but his ability and potential was always obvious
Edmund Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 It must just be me that read "always has been a good player" differently then. how does = mean that im denying what I said? In my opinion he has always been a good player and like jimmy siad he didn't always show it but had the potential. how can you judge any leicester player on a previous season especially last season. i have two words for you : Matty Fryatt at the end of the day you have your opinion and I have mine and I respect that, why are you following me around this thread trying to start an internet argument with me when we obviously have different opinions and we are always going to conflict. just leave it for christ sake. he has always been a good player, maybe he didn't always show it but his ability and potential was always obvious spot on mate
Joe. Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 If this is going to turn into a Stearman debate I'll add this. Stearman played at right back for us - we've replaced him with somebody better for that position. He's now playing centre back for Wolves where he's much better - we've got Tunchev. We wouldn't have needed him this season. Tunch is the man.

Thracian Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 You said he had always been a good player for us, the truth is two seasons ago and the start of last season, he wasn't. That was the point. What will you be studying at university? Ancient history? He was our player of the season in 2007/2008 in a crap team and one of the few we had who showed any consistency. Even then there were some who couldn't wait for an excuse to hammer him and the two or three of us who ever suggested he should perhaps be tried in his preferred position at centre-back (so we might perhaps get some constructive movement out of defence) were utterly ridiculed.
Simi Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 he has always been a good player, maybe he didn't always show it but his ability and potential was always obvious Yes.
Thracian Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 never intended it to but looks like it has. It might be wise to see Tunchev play in The Champoionship first before we declare that he's better than a guy who seems to be helping his own team back into the top flight for the first time in decades. I see many qualities in Tunchev. He's exactly the sort of Ian King-type centre-back I've wanted us to have for years. But better than Stearman? I hope so. But we'll see.

From what ive seen of tunchev this season, he has looked an absolute rock and I have no doubt that he could step up into the championship. I was referring to the fact that this had turned into a stearman debate. It's nice to read that theres a few people on here including yourself who were also fans of stearman. I was quite shocked to see so many haters, and I wish we would could have him lined up alongside tunchev.

I was just picking up on the fact that before Holloway managed to turn him around, some of the performances he was putting in were nothing short of abysmal. Although he wasn't alone.

That I agree with. The team was absymal last season especially the attackers. Im a big believer in confidence and I think last season our whole team lacked that. I think that was mainly down to the frequent changes in management and lack of stability, but we wont go there as that was in the past and we have turned a leaf (thank god). Tbh my biggest worry of Stearman was the fact that his second home seemed to be the pubs and clubs. I know there human beings and allowed to live a normal life but as a professional footballer and the wages which they get paid, there body should be there temple.

And this will continue to taint my view of the fella. He's a utter noob off the pitch.
gibbo Posted 27 December 2008 Posted 27 December 2008 hhmm well what can i say about davies ive only seen him play once but when i saw him play i thought what the hell why have we loaned this donkey in he can charge at people and sometimes scare defenders but he is rubbish at shooting passing tackling etc things that are essential
