sham Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Sky Sports are reporting that Welsh midfielder Owain Tudur-Jones is ready to leave the Liberty Stadium, with Southampton, Charlton, Nottingham Forest, Bristol City, Millwall, Leicester and Milton Keynes Dons all believed to be interested. Tudur-Jones has been injury plagued since joining the club from Rhyl for £5000 and has struggled to break into the team even when fully fit. The form of Jordi Gomez, Ferrie Bodde, Darren Pratley, Leon Britton and more recently, Joe Allen, has seen Tudur-Jones limited to less than a handful of starts in the Championship. It was seen as the ideal opportunity for the 24 year old to step in and makes his mark, after Dutchman Bodde was ruled out for the season, but he struggled to stamp his authority on the midfield berth. Boss Roberto Martinez may be tempted to sell the Welshman in order to free up wages for another central midfielder. Mikel Alonso (brother of Xabi) is currently on trial with the club, while Jasar Takak is also reportedly a target SOURCE

dandannieldanok Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Never seen him play before, could be a decent signing if we don't manage to keep Davies for the rest of the season.

Fail to see why I should believe a rumour when it can't get such basic facts right - Tudur-Jones is ex-Bangor, not Rhyl.
StanSP Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 I'd rather see our efforts put towards signing Davies and possible a back-up striker than sign this guy.
The People's Hero Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 There was a rumour in news of the world about some Tranmere midfielder too...
brookfox Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 There was a rumour in news of the world about some Tranmere midfielder too... Steve Jennings was said player.
Brother Reynard Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 " injury plagued"...mmm, we've not had a lot of good luck with former injury-plagued Welsh midfielders have we? Do we really need to add another of the walking wounded to our squad? As for the Tranmere speculation, Jennings is the player as stated, but don't know much about the lad.
