SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 99p a pint, my flights are booked I always thought you guys had cheap beer anyway (like 1.80 a pint)
Alexikokopops Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 99p a pint, my flights are booked I always thought you guys had cheap beer anyway (like 1.80 a pint) Depends where you are. Up North you can pay that. I pay £3+ usually.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Depends where you are. Up North you can pay that. I pay £3+ usually. At a club you would expect to pay more i would assume.
Alexikokopops Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 At a club you would expect to pay more i would assume. Yeah yeah. I was quite pleased to be playing £3 for a Red Stripe down Fan Club in Leicester!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Yeah yeah. I was quite pleased to be playing £3 for a Red Stripe down Fan Club in Leicester! Red Stripe on tap, that is something i havn't had the pleasure of trying.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 My mate went to the doctor the other day complaining about generally feeling unwell and was surprised when the doctor said it was probably something to do with the 25 pints of premium lager he's drinking a week. He thought that's what everybody does
Monk Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Stupid article, given that spoons do some very cheap beers anyway. I could maybe understand the uproar if it was Fosters they were selling off - but Green King is a decent beer and certainly not one which you'd see chavs drinking in general.
Fosse Boy Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Red Stripe on tap, that is something i havn't had the pleasure of trying. It's ace.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 It's ace. Why did you have to say that. We lack variety in our beers on tap
Fosse Boy Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Why did you have to say that.We lack variety in our beers on tap I'm sorry, but I assure you it would be well worth the trip if you ever felt the need to experience its brilliance.
Maybes Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Red Stripe on tap, that is something i havn't had the pleasure of trying. Nah it was in the tin.
Alexikokopops Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Red Stripe on tap, that is something i havn't had the pleasure of trying. As Maybes said it was in the tin. They do it on tap at the Loaded Dog though. Get over here boyo.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 As Maybes said it was in the tin. They do it on tap at the Loaded Dog though. Get over here boyo. And at Entropy on Hinckley Road. A mere £3.10 a pint - you can pretend you're in the South East
CosbehFox Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 I can see the lovely image of all the 11am spongers outside The Last Plantagent aged 17 to 24 necking IPA. IPA, the new Guinness.
The People's Hero Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 And at Entropy on Hinckley Road. A mere £3.10 a pint - you can pretend you're in the South East My local is now £3.20 for the cheapest beer they do, which happens to be fosters. All the real ales are £3.30. They do Stella and what White Kronenbourg stuff - I reckon they could each be £4 (maybe more).
Fosse Boy Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 I can see the lovely image of all the 11am spongers outside The Last Plantagent aged 17 to 24 necking IPA. IPA, the new Guinness. Exactly. Coz all of the Bacardi Breezer Brigade are gonna switch to real ale in order to get their pre-fight fix of a Saturday night? Get real, Alcohol concern!
Scow Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 I've never tried IPA, but with prices like that, it's worth a go.
Thracian Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 I've never tried IPA, but with prices like that, it's worth a go. There is usually a reasonable choice of other decent beers in the Corn Exchange anyway. A wouldn't necessarily call it the greatest pub for service but they do serve some excellent beer at extremely compeitive prices.
Ultra Posted 6 January 2009 Posted 6 January 2009 Wetherspoons are also cutting food prices. I might drop in there for a spot of lunch one day soon..
The People's Hero Posted 6 January 2009 Posted 6 January 2009 Wetherspoons are also cutting food prices.I might drop in there for a spot of lunch one day soon.. The last few times I've eaten in Wetherspoons (admittedly Maidstone) I've been ill. And no I didn't have 12 pints each time! Their fish n chips deal with a cuppa (about £2) is pretty unbelievable.
Dr The Singh Posted 6 January 2009 Posted 6 January 2009 The last few times I've eaten in Wetherspoons (admittedly Maidstone) I've been ill. And no I didn't have 12 pints each time!Their fish n chips deal with a cuppa (about £2) is pretty unbelievable. Food is at a good price but nothing to right home about. The 99p IPA is defo good value, it's a shame i've given up drinking!!!
Rodderz Posted 6 January 2009 Posted 6 January 2009 99p a pint is quite a bargain but me and the wetherspoons dont realy get along.
Unit Posted 6 January 2009 Posted 6 January 2009 I spent a bit of time in the highcross (the pub) and am loving the newcy brown for 1.89. I'll probably have a crack at this IPA. Only bad thing about whetherspoons is the chicken burgers... uhhhh
