Why is everyone so against Setanta?

Because some people already pay £40 plus a month for sky and expect to see there own country play football

and then these stupid money grabbers come along and rob football that is not even relevant to them

i personally think that it is an outrage that it is shown on satalite tv full stop

english people have a right to watch there team play football.

You have to blame the European Community or whatever they call it these days as it was them that ruled that Sky shouldn't have a monopoly - this was all done in our name and for our benefit.

Unfortunately we're not really better off, whilst the Sky package is now supplemented by more Championship and League 1/2 football for the same price you then have to subscribe to Setanta to see the rest.

Now it maybe that you don't want to see all the games but if you support a particular Premier Team as most premier fans do you now have to subscribe to both Sky and Setanta for the chance they'll be showing your team.

But Setanta are no worse than Sky, who robbed football off terrestial television, the only difference being that Sky did it about 10/15 years previous to Setanta.

i think to be honest that all the england games should be gave to the bbc.

what has realy annoyed me is that if setanta are not gready enough they wont let the bbc have a highlights package either.

This is true, as someone who refuses to pay for Sky, I'm glad someone is challenging their monopoly.

L O L! @ the fans chanting 'we hate setanta'!

That was ace. :D

Blyth seem to be holding their own at the moment, hope they go and nick it at the death and set up a dream tie against Sunderland in round four!

The main problem with me is that it offers only sports, at least you pay your money to Sky and you get hundreds of channels for your money.

But they aren't challenging their monopoly they are offering different products (games). You can't choose one or the other to see a particular game.

For it to be competive and not a monopoly they should allow them both to show the same games then we as customers have a real choice, based on the quality of delivery and general service provided by them, it would also more than likely force the price down.

But as I said it's not Setanta's fault its Europe.

But once again this is the exact same situation as Sky vs BBC/ITV before Setanta even came on the scene. Sky are offering different products to the BBC/ITV.

I pay for Sky, but are there really hundred's of channels you actually watch?

There are so many channels listed but I can only count about 15 odd channels I would watch, if that.
