StanSP Posted 7 January 2009 Posted 7 January 2009 This thread is simple. Discuss here what your favourite rock video (s) is/are. It can be from any time period. My favourite would have to be 30 Seconds To Mars - The Kill
Libertine Posted 7 January 2009 Posted 7 January 2009 Anything by Foo Fighters. Most by The Smashing Pumpkins. Some Muse videos are great, and RHCP. Mercy Me - Alkaline Trio The Suffering - Coheed & Cambria Ashes to Ashes - Bowie (For that time) Closer - Nine Inch Nails Friends of P - The Rentals Most Weezer videos are awesome. Buddy Holly obviously, El Scorcho, The Sweater Song is kind of cool because of the randomness of the dogs etc and Matt and Pat pissing about, Hash Pipe, Both Island in the Sun vids, Pork & Beans is brilliant and Troublemaker.

Good call. Learn To Fly and Pretender are pretty good! Dave Grohl is a bit of a legend. Liked his cameo in Tribute (Tenacious D)
GLC Posted 7 January 2009 Posted 7 January 2009 tenacious d-tribute foo fighters-learn to fly what more do you want
Libertine Posted 7 January 2009 Posted 7 January 2009 Learn to Fly is great, but..... Everlong is whey better. And the song is awesome too.
rico Posted 7 January 2009 Posted 7 January 2009 prodigy - smack my bitch up aphex twin - windowlicker
Daggers Posted 7 January 2009 Posted 7 January 2009 I want to break free - Queen Learn to fly - FF Sun and the Rain - Madness ...and Half Man Half Biscuit (Fully aware that I'm stretching the given genre)
Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 Learn to Fly is great, but.....Everlong is whey better. And the song is awesome too. What about Breakout? What about this? Not just a great rock video, a great video full stop or may be... possibly... and stretching it slightly (cos many wouldn't consider these a rock band, but this is definitely a rock song) ** Took me ages to find a version of Go With The Flow that would allow me to embed
StanSP Posted 8 January 2009 Author Posted 8 January 2009 Is that third one down Queens of The Stone Age No One Knows?? If so, I must agree too. Top vid. (the reason why I'm asking is that I can't view YouTube vids from School)
Finchy Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 I absolutely hate pretentious, big budget shit like the 30 Seconds To Mars videos (Sorry FoxForever ) Fat Boy Slim - Praise You His videos are usually fantastic but this is the best. Sigur Ros - Svefn-G-Englar Beautiful. Jamie T - Sheila Amazing idea. Justice D.A.N.C.E Just brilliant art/motion graphics. But the award for the greatest music video of all time goes to Four Tet - As Serious As Your Life

Libertine Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 It's Go With The Flow, not No One Knows. Agreed on Breakout too. Great video.
Monk Posted 8 January 2009 Posted 8 January 2009 Learn to Fly still has to go down as one of the best music videos ever, and it is that video that got me into the Foos in the first place. However I love this more: Everlong

Libertine Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 My Mum went see over 10 Radiohead gigs and 5 or 6 Smashing Pumpkins. Said they were the two best bands she ever seen and she been around that scene so I believe her I wish I could've seen the Pumpkins. I mean the real Pumpkins, not the impostors of nowadays. What a shit gig that was.
StanSP Posted 9 January 2009 Author Posted 9 January 2009 Don't like big budget videos? Check out Enter Shikari's We can't breathe in space - they just don't want us to escape. Filmed in one of the band member's garage in St Albans, and went to local supermarket to get tin foil and sellotape.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 9 January 2009 Posted 9 January 2009 Wasn't this supposed to be ROCK VIDEOS? ie, best "videos" and they had to be "rock"
