Part Of The Crowd Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 Don't like big budget videos?Check out Enter Shikari's We can't breathe in space - they just don't want us to escape. Filmed in one of the band member's garage in St Albans, and went to local supermarket to get tin foil and sellotape. one of the helmets was given to them at their warm up gig to playing projekt revolution at the pitz club in milton keynes, excellent gig that was, even if they aren't really my cup of tea
BoneDog Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 I wish I could've seen the Pumpkins.I mean the real Pumpkins, not the impostors of nowadays. What a shit gig that was. I was never really into many bands but I saw a video of proper pumpkins and they did look like they put on a ruddy good show. Me mam were ballin when they split up!
shen Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 All excellent vids TLB Hadn't seen the video for Televators before And I'll vote Everlong too above Learning to Fly! Here's some of my personal faves (for the freakish but lovely stop motion art and story) (for the visual effects) And of course...

It was my first ever concert - what a way to start!! All bands were great (bar The Bravery). Linkin Park, Enter Shikari and N*E*R*D are amazing!
stez Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 not the greatest video in the world, but for me it's important because seeing it on 'the chart show' it turned me onto other music, instead of wallowing in a pit of, rock and heavy metal, fuelled despair
Jay Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 this video was the b0llocks back in the day!! I think the likes of Learn to Fly owe a lot to this beast
Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 this video was the b0llocks back in the day!!I think the likes of Learn to Fly owe a lot to this beast Sabotage is the Box Deluxe! My fave video ever, but as I have said elsewhere, technically not rock - can I add this?... not the best Ash song ever, but a fun video to a decent song (and unlike many videos it goes in time with the music)

Great song . Haven't heard much of Ash before, like this song though.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 January 2009 Posted 10 January 2009 Yep agree. Great song . Haven't heard much of Ash before, like this song though. I love Ash. They're not one of those bands that muso's enthuse about, they're not ground-breaking, but they do fun music and they're great live (saw them at Rock City on the Meltdown tour.) Hugely under-appreciated.
StanSP Posted 10 January 2009 Author Posted 10 January 2009 Just thought I'd mention that Kings of Leon are a great band. Not the greatest videos, but their stuff is just so unique, especially the basslines and superb guitar riffs. Anyone else agree?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 I somehow forgot this one... Don't usually like Korn, but this is great! Has anyone seen the truly awful duet with Amy Lee singing this song? This song works cos of it's power chords... not one for doing acoustic. EDIT: Okay, so obviously Korn are signed to Sony... which means no embedding and all but their official download of tghe video have been stomped on. Frikkin' technocrats!

I'm sure I've also forgotten quite a few 'classics' that should've been mentioned in here...

All bands were great (bar The Bravery). Linkin Park, Enter Shikari and N*E*R*D are amazing! indeed i did, i got given a ticket by someone i knew who was working there. did you manage to get into the front bit? it was so easy to get in, i didn't realise i had done it till i was there, the guards just let anyone through and gave you a blue wristband i thought it was an alright gig, but as usual it sounded impeccable at the bowl, if only they did more gigs there... it is used about once a year and is a massive waste, and making tickets a bit more affordable, £50 for a show aimed at young people is ridiculous

I love how they tried to stop everyone running down the hill when you get through. As soon as they tell you you stop for about a second and then sprint to get to the front. They definitely need to do more gigs there. I remember my mates going to Green Day there. Even my mates around MK said they could hear the sound coming from the Bowl that day! Also agree about the price. Ridiculous is an understatement.
Chromophobia Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 dEUS - Instant Street only one of the best songs ever, and a good video too.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 you could hear projekt revolution from my village i have been told. i live several miles away from milton keynes let alone the bowl
StanSP Posted 14 January 2009 Author Posted 14 January 2009 Impressive. I've got some videos on YouTube of PR. Not great quality, but good enough! After the voicebox-shattering, mosh-pit extravaganza events of Projekt Revolution, 2 days later I went to Nelson Mandela's Tribute Concert at Hyde Park. My legs felt like jelly. Had to stand for about 10 hours + walk/run back to the train station! Anyways, was worth it, especially seeing Will Smith bang out the Fresh Prince theme tune!! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=0yT-WA9Ifsg FPoBA starts about 33 seconds in. (not my video by the way)

(not my video by the way) it's going to be mental for me, i am going to wacken open air which will have mosh pits about a hundred times larger and more intense with 70,000 people there i didn't really bother with the pits because i know that the people that went for enter shikari (you know who i mean) would be stood in the middle pretending to be windmills and looking like they are starting a lawn mower or some other household chore
