I know the rule is to wait till the player is active but Ronaldo had scored the goal, celebrated and almost on the coach home by the time is was ruled offside. Another pathetic, inept official in charge of a game. Wankers.

Matt Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 According to ITV touchline reporter the Assistant/Referee wasn't sure Ronaldo got a flick on before it was offside (Or something like that) so they had to check with Rob Styles to Forth Official. I thought I heard there was rule that you cannot use a "third party" as such, You cannot use the Forth Official, TV Replays e.t.c, to make decision's, You can only use the 2 Assistants/Referee to make decisions, e.t.c. Don't quite 100% know that rule but heard something like that the other week, when a controversial decision was made - Forget what had happened on that occasion though.

According to Jim Rosential Cov have got to get past Arsenal first. At the start of the draw he said something like "Arsenal will have to get past Coventry in a 4th round replay before the winner of the meets Burnley"

He corrected himself after that.
