Kilworthfox Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 We have witnessed the last 3 home games, and we have recouped 3 points from a possible 9. Now I accept that we are doing very well and will win the league and retain our Championship status without too much of a problem because of our excellent form. I think that the players are suffering when the expectations on them to take the game to the opposition. Against Oldham we looked clueless when they went down to 10 men. In fact they looked the more dangerous as they have the option of counter attacking as we were pushing more players forward. Against Brighton we were again expected to take the game to Brighton and we look unsettled when teams put 10 men behind the ball with a big lad or a speedy skillful player chasing lost causes. Yesterday against Swindon Cox was excellent an my MOTM, as his goal was just reward for Swindons good tactics. This is a pesimmistic view, as points wise we may aswell have lost 2 of these home games aswell as we won 1 of these 3 games. Points are all that matters! From watching the last 3 home games we have hit the frame alot! We have created chances in all of the games, but when the chances come it is only when we have delivered quality balls into the box. Players like Oakley, Dyer, Morrisson consitently fail to deliver quality balls into dangerous areas. Yesterday Oakley delivered 1 decent corner which we almost scored from. In all truth Oakley should be ashamed that he is our best option for corners as he hits their man in front of the nearest post more often than not. Dyer is not a good crosser of the ball, ad is suited to a more counter attacking style of play and his effect on the game is nulled when the opposition sits back. However wehen we have a chance of a counter attack I have rarely seen us attack with any pace out to the wings? I don't know why a direct ball is not searching for Dyer? Morrisson need dropping IMO, I would like a look at the guy from Hull. I have read that people on here rate him, but I have watched a few aways games and all hoem and I see him as capaple at this level and that is not good enough for Leicester where we are going. I was impressed with Carl Petney, he looked steady and did what he had to do, solid debut. If I was NP, I would be doing so hard work on the training ground on delivering quality balls into the danger zones from open play and set peices, if we do that we will win more at home . Get it done Nige
Corky Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 We aren't playing badly to be honest. We looked decent against Oldham, and yesterday we had our moments. You've got to give credit to the opposition. As you say, Cox was exceptional for them, as Hughes was for Oldham. The last three home results have not been great, but we've still picked up points from all of them. We need a lucky break, a win of some sort against Stockport and I'm sure our home form will return. Good piece by the way
Matt Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 EVERY team has a dodgy period of form throughout the season at some point, IF this is ours which I believe it is, we are still picking up points when in all honesty we could have easily lost surely that is a positive? Comparing to last season we conceded yesterday and that would have been game over and Swindon could have gone on to score 3 or 4, but this season we have fighters and players who want to go on and try and win games, keep losses to a minimum, we have fight to come back and get a late undeserved draw. Glass half full or half empty?!
Houdini Logic Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 Every team has a dip in form and if this is ours - I'll take it!
RAFRUDY Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 It certainley feels like 6 points dropped, but i'd of took 69 points at this stage at the start of the season. We just need to start finishing chances off better.
Legend_in_blue Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 If we draw all our remaining games, we will be promoted. It's becoming a case of crawling over the finishing line though as things stand at the moment. I'd rather we steamroller our way over it tbh. The next away game can't come some enough.

Good piece by the way No hang on a minute dorky, i mean corky. I took the pessimistic view on the 3 home games like Kilworth. I said we looked clueless against Oldham like Kilworth. I said Oakleys and Dyers crosses were both shit and we needed a decent crosser of the ball, like Kilworth. I also said i was impressed with Carl Pentney, like Kilworth. Yet he gets a 'good piece by the way' and i get repeatedly mocked for essentially saying the same thing. Come on Corky Me and Kilworth are clearly very much alike in our views of LCFC, sorry Kilworth

Daggers Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 Kilworth is a twat with bad taste in sweets. If we don't have something similar to Meltis Newberry Fruits for the next home game then I am asking the stewards to remove him.

AoWW Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 Stop arse-licking I've too much 'attitude' to arse-lick successfully. I leave that to you.

On a new note my sweets were nice! Just some people can't appreciate real quality when it comes along bloodly Brummie types
