MC Prussian Posted 1 March 2009 Posted 1 March 2009 Looks like you've got a bit of over capacity going on yourselves though what with peaking this season at two thirds of it.It's called building for the future though isn't it. You've already had your two biggest games of the season. I doubt Millwall or Peterborough will provoke the same "glory hunter" reaction from your ManU fans than we and Leeds did with attracting more than 17'000 people each... And one quarter of yesterday's fans was from Leicester - we sold your away end out! With some committed supporters in the home end. Even S'****horpe and Oldham couldn't make more than 11'000 show up... In a stadium twice the capacity! Your average gate is... what again? At least you could've said thank you to our supporters for bringing in more cash to YOUR club by selling our complete allocation! Thankless and fickle plastic fans for a plastic club. Enough said.

At the time the stadium was built, we were filling it. It's called adapting to the current climate.

Although your argument falls flat on its arse when you consider the attendance yesterday was only 500 up on the Morecambe fixture last season. Morecambe fans are the best in the country, but don't exactly travel in numbers. Around 450 I believe they bought down that day. So - It's official then. Morecambe are a bigger draw than Leicester! HTH!

BletchleyDons Posted 1 March 2009 Posted 1 March 2009 I take it you can count, right?450 compared to 4'500. Now who's flat on whose behind? Your argument was based on our 'glory hunting' supporters turning up to watch Leicester. More turned up to watch Morecambe, mate. 17717 yesterday with 4500 away fans 17250 against Morecambe with 450 away fans Morecambe are a bigger draw than Leicester. Hope that clears things up for you...
Daggers Posted 1 March 2009 Posted 1 March 2009 Actually, I used to support Leicester... I think I just heard your credibility shutting the door as it left.
BletchleyDons Posted 1 March 2009 Posted 1 March 2009 I think I just heard your credibility shutting the door as it left. You surely can't blame me for wanting to support a bigger club, Daggers?

Hope that clears things up for you... We have the best fans in this league. By the way, you played Morecambe at the end of your promotion season, with fates already decided for both sides. And it was in May, nice weather there was then. Wait until you see how many will show up for our tie with S****horpe. Or even Leeds. Ours is bigger than yours. MK Dons slowly turn into a small Leeds. You surely can't blame me for wanting to support a bigger club, Daggers? Glory hunter.

Hope that clears things up for you... Would this be the Morecombe game that was the last game of a promotion winning season? I can see where you're coming from now. I also see that the day MuckDons played the mighty Morecombe, Manure were the early kick off (pre-match pubbage sorted then), the Arse and the Plastic Scousers played on Sunday, and Chelski were the Monday night game. Unlucky.

BletchleyDons Posted 1 March 2009 Posted 1 March 2009 We have the best fans in this league. Self-proclaimed, obviously! As I've stated elsewhere on this forum, I enjoyed having you lot down yesterday. Friendly lot on the whole, and managed to meet up with a Leicester fan who frequents our forum regularly who turned out to be a smashing fella. I was even happy to sort out tickets in our end for 3 Leicester fans from the Market Harborough area. I haven't got a problem with your fans, mate. But Stockport, Yeovil, Carlisle and Southend and Leeds were all more vocal, even though the majority of that list only bought down a fraction of your support. And as far as friendly, outgoing fans who are top value-for-money for a pre-match pint goes, nobody even comes close to Orient in this league.

Unlucky. Unlucky? How the hell did you work that out? Sorry, but the stats speak for themselves. Morecambe - Even bigger than Leicester! FACT! Edit to add - Would you have bought 4500 if this wasn't YOUR promotion winning season???

Fosse Boy Posted 1 March 2009 Posted 1 March 2009 Unlucky? How the hell did you work that out? Sorry, but the stats speak for themselves. Morecambe - Even bigger than Leicester! FACT! How is that a fact?

You can dress it up all you like, the simple fact is a load of plastics, who are more concerned with events a few divisions higher, decided to attend a promotion party in the local vicinity, possibly to justify their attendance if, and when, that local team play one of the more interesting teams. "Oh yes, I was there when they, sorry, we were promoted from League Division 2, oh yes".
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 March 2009 Posted 1 March 2009 Simmer down mate, you've just won the League Cup anyway. Great weekend for the people of Milton Keynes. Viva Ronaldo.

BletchleyDons Posted 1 March 2009 Posted 1 March 2009 He's a Spurs fan, hence the tetchiness. You've said some cruel things to me, but that's divorce material, lady...
RedOnRed Posted 1 March 2009 Posted 1 March 2009 You lot make me laugh. Too big to be in League 1 and yet last season you were too big to be in the Championship. Every step of the way you dissect a club and their fans trying to find some fault to feel superior by.
BletchleyDons Posted 1 March 2009 Posted 1 March 2009 In terms of faith and numbers, it's actually a true statement. If that's your yardstick, then that award would go to about 21 other teams in this league who haven't enjoyed Premier League status and have to endure watching shyte year after year after year. Not us obviously. We were in the Premiership when we were Wimbledon....
