Bert Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 Robby Di. I'd like to know who we have on loan from Blackpool. Di Matteo says Leicester have it easy Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo believes title rivals Leicester City belong in the top six of the Championship rather than down in League One. Ahead of this Saturday's top of the table clash against the Foxes, the Dons boss admitted that he can't help but be a tad jealous of the embarrassment of riches Nigel Pearson's side has at its disposal. The Italian said: "Leicester for me is really a Championship side. "They could probably be top six in the Championship and they are very well equipped all over the pitch. "With Matty Fryatt is a big threat, Steve Howard, Lloyd Dyer, Matt Oakley, it is a good team. "If you look at the club, the squad, supporters, the budget, they have everything that Championship clubs have. "When they lose one player they just get another in. "They just got Wayne Brown from Hull and they have others who they have signed from Blackpool and Liverpool – that makes a big difference." Di Matteo's side found themselves completely outclassed on the first day of the season at the Walkers Stadium and few would have been predicted the Dons would have been second to Leicester after that game. And Di Matteo insists that Saturday's match will prove just how far his side have come in the space of six months. "The team has changed quite a bit from the first game of the season when we had a difficult pre-season and the kick off probably came a bit too early for us," he said. "It was very unsettling at the time as we had players who were leaving and players who were injured. But let's not talk about the past." The game will attract one of the biggest crowds this season with Leicester bringing more than 4,500 fans to stadium:mk. A Dons win would leave them nine points behind the leaders, but with two games in hand and in touching distance. While the Dons boss is refusing to build the game up too much, he does admit that it is the sort of fixture that his players relish. "It is going to be a big game and we are looking forward to it as it is one of those games you want to play in as a player. "I think this game is not only for the fans, it is for us as well as we are still fighting to hold onto our place. It'll be a huge game for everbody involved in the club." Di Matteo was relieved to announce he has few injury problems for the game. "Sean O'Hanlon is back in the squad, Luke Howell is back in the squad, everyone seems to be fit at the moment." "But Luke Chadwick is still a doubt and Tore Andre Flo is now training separately from the team at the moment." Di Matteo said it is too early to judge whether Chadwick is fit enough to play or not, but Shaun Cummings is available.
C-man Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 Must have been referring to Dickov, ought to get his facts right eh. If Tore Andre (Hero) Flo doesn't play, I'll be peeved.
Koke Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 You off to this one big man? Indeed. We going to Brighton on Friday night, and after several sessions of getting completely stoned, we are driving up to Milton Keynes the following day. A little break on Sunday and then I'm gonna celebrate my 25th birthday on Monday. A couple of great days ahead
Guest Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 hartlepool is still a great away day thoughdid you find the upstairs of their supporters bar better than the downstairs? and i liked the system they had to get in It was indeed Did you mean the upper tier on the right hand side of the ground? There were a few lads giving it the big un from the terracing over there but most of their vocal support seemed to be coming from the opposite end to us if I remember correctly. Quite liked the ground though.

Koke Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 Ironically, Monday the 2nd of March is also known as spliff day. And ironically, Damien Duff was also born on 2nd March, and he has always looked like a homeless person who's completely stoned.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 I got there 6 minutes before kick-off and tried to get in the home end by accident. i tried and succeeded getting into the home end by accident, i got there really early and got bored in the supporters bar because it was full as fook so went to get in and get a good spot, went in the wrong end. five minutes later i was there whining like a baby to the stewards to let me in the away end. i remember the ticket person 'errrr yeah this'll do'

If Tore Andre (Hero) Flo doesn't play, I'll be peeved. he'll come on late during the second half and get 15 minutes max It was indeed Did you mean the upper tier on the right hand side of the ground? Quite liked the ground though. was talking about their supporters bar, on the corner. yeah it was a nice ground, we got the few people giving it the big'un from the terracing along the side, the end opposite us stood silent throughout the whole game apart from when they scored, they cheered...
davieG Posted 26 February 2009 Posted 26 February 2009 http://www.fillyourboots.co.uk/club-news-detail.asp?id=3406 <h2 class="newsheadline">MK can't prevent Pearson's push</h2> MK Dons v Leicester League One’s top two go head-to-head as Roberto Di Matteo’s MK Dons welcome record-breaking Leicester City to Stadium: MK. This weekend’s schedule throws up a repeat of the opening day fixtures but there will be few more important than the top-of-the-table clash in Milton Keynes. A brace from Matt Fryatt ensured a 2-0 victory for the Foxes on that occasion but few would have predicted that, come the end of February, their biggest challengers for the championship would be the League One newcomers. Terry Gornell’s late strike meant the Dons had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Tranmere last time out but Di Matteo’s men remain unbeaten in four and confident of achieving successive promotions. The Dons lie 12 points behind the league leaders but just a single point ahead of third placed Peterborough – albeit with two games in hand – as the battle for an all important top-two spot heats up. Former MK Dons favourite Lloyd Dyer is set to return against his old club having joined the Foxes last summer after enjoying two highly successful seasons in Buckinghamshire. And Dyer’s current employers made it a club-record 20 games unbeaten with victory at Bristol Rovers last weekend thanks to Fryatt’s 21st of the campaign. Leicester will be without defender Jack Hobbs, however, after the on-loan Liverpool youngster saw red for a clumsy challenge in the penalty area on Rovers striker Darryl Duffy. Mark Bunn, on loan from Blackburn, saved the resulting spot-kick on his debut to ensure Nigel Pearson’s men travelled back to the East Midlands with all three points. Pearson’s side have tasted success in four of their last six away outings and will be determined to maintain their unbeaten record in their quest for an instant return to the Championship. Both sides have scored 62 goals – the most by any team in the division – and Saturday’s clash could well go a long way to determining the outcome of the League One title. Leicester seem undeterred to relinquish their grasp on top spot and may well just have enough to edge out the high-flying Dons in what could prove to be a tense yet exhilarating encounter. Verdict: MK Dons 0-1 Leicester
RedOnRed Posted 26 February 2009 Posted 26 February 2009 Oooh, it's clearly going to hurt if we beat you isn't it.
Milky Posted 26 February 2009 Posted 26 February 2009 Oooh, it's clearly going to hurt if we beat you isn't it. No doubt if we beat you we won't see you on here for a few months like last time. An added bonus some might say.
Fosse Boy Posted 26 February 2009 Posted 26 February 2009 Oooh, it's clearly going to hurt if we beat you isn't it. Well, you're hardly going out of your way to attempt to justify those pictures...
davieG Posted 26 February 2009 Posted 26 February 2009 Oooh, it's clearly going to hurt if we beat you isn't it. In terms of promotion prospects it will hurt you a lot more if you lose or even draw than it will us, the main pressure on us is our unbeaten run of 20 games which of course can be a motivational force.
RedOnRed Posted 26 February 2009 Posted 26 February 2009 Well, you're hardly going out of your way to attempt to justify those pictures... You're entitled to your views and i'm done with going round in circles justifying.
clazkel Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 We will be up for this game and they will try and play football which will suit us. I think we will win easily, positive thinking Fryatt hatrick would be great 3-0 Leic
Lovejoy Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 We will be up for this game and they will try and play football which will suit us. I think we will win easily, positive thinkingFryatt hatrick would be great 3-0 Leic Big Steve Hatrick would be even better .
clazkel Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Big Steve Hatrick would be even better . Howard deserves a hatrick but i want Fryatt to be top goalscorer in the league after all the stick he used to get. A hatrick each and we win 6-0, perfect!
Lovejoy Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Howard deserves a hatrick but i want Fryatt to be top goalscorer in the league after all the stick he used to get. A hatrick each and we win 6-0, perfect! Definitely doable imo .
Bert Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 The whole Franchise business is getting so boring now. yeah we know it's wrong, but fook me, what's debating about the same thing over and over again going to achieve?
Steven Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Not according to Nige. Leicester manager Nigel Pearson attempts to play down League One 'cup final'
Guest Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Not according to Nige. Leicester manager Nigel Pearson attempts to play down League One 'cup final' Was just about to post that myself. Can't see it getting to Nige, like he keeps saying, where we are in May is all that matters. Whilst most people see this as a 'big' game it really shouldn't be, it's 3 points that we want to help secure our promotion
maddog Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Pearson Plays Down Cup Final http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...-cup-final.html You know its a big game when theres almost a page on it in the Daily Telegraph sport. Page 9 if you have it, but im sure most of you are reading the Sun or the Daily Star "Perhaps Nigel Pearson's protestations that Saturday's meeting between Leicester City and Milton Keynes Dons, first and second in League One respectively, is just another game in another long season would have been easier to believe had the Leicester manager not forced his hand through his trousers, ripping open his pocket, as he said it." Even Pearsons nervous hes putting his hand in his pocket!!!
Shrenchel Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Not according to Nige. Leicester manager Nigel Pearson attempts to play down League One 'cup final' You would think they could have stretched to a photo of him as Leicester manager.
