I fail to get excited about this game.

If we lose, we lose. If we win, we got one foot in the Championship.

Looking forward to this game, hoping for 3 points that in my eyes would near enough hand us the title.

But yeah, the constant abuse of the "part time" fan who might actually have other things to do in their life apart from watch football is repetitive and boring. It gives the impression there's a group of supporters with a massive superiority complex.

For me that's a valid reason, having other commitments.

But maddog clearly doesn't. It's clearly visible from his posts on here. If he had many other commitments, he wouldn't waste his life posting repetitive polls every week and trying to get a angry reaction from everyone. Living a fair distance away, and/or having other commitments shouldn't qualify you in this (part-timers) bracket.

But maddog's reasons for not attending many away games:

I just think of the hundreds and hundreds of pounds ive saved and all the money you've chosen to spend.

Do i really want to sit in a car for hours there and back to watch Leicester play some shitty team from League one and spend £50 in the process, for every away game.

Errrrr No

means in my eyes he should be seen as a 'part-time' supporter - because basically he just can't be arsed to go to, or pay for any away games, instead going to the one game, a 1st v 2nd clash towards the end of the season.

He's obviously only going, for the sole reason that it's a 'big game'. Not because this is his only break from his busy schedule, or because he lives in Ireland or something and it's too much of a trip more than once a season.

And of course he won't be the only one - a lot of them will be out in force. I really feel for those who go to near enough all the away games and have missed out on this occasion because of people like maddog.

i think we can indeed carry through till may, our team prides itself on very high levels of fitness, we now have depth in positions aswell as not having to rely on a couple of people for goals, we have had 14 different goalscorers this season.

if we lose on saturday we are still ahead of millwall with a far superior goal difference and the same number of games, we have more games in hand than most of the clubs below us aswell, it is just a case of going steady and not overexerting ourselves when we don't need to, and also having the determination and grit to grind out some results.

Saturday will be a very interesting day with most of the top teams playing each other, after saturday we'll have a very good idea of who cuts the mustard.

Luckily for us we have that little bit of quality that means even in games where we are not necesserilly playing well we can still get the win. We are a very different side to how we were in January, historically (even though that isn't very long) a bad month for us.

One of the games of the season is going to take place on saturday, as you say, you like to play teams that come and attack you, so do we, and if you rely heavily on your midfield it will be a major downfall, we have an extremely strong midfield, perhaps our strongest point, our defence is mainly solid aswell, although we miss the long term absentee Danny Swailes, whos partnership with Sean O'Hanlon, Dean Lewington and Carl Regan was one of the toughest defences in the lower leagues last season.

We also usually step it up a gear in the 'bigger' games and also in front of the larger crowds, when we played Leeds earlier in the season there was an electric atmosphere, noise coming from our end like i have never heard before and the performance on the pitch was absolutely top notch and would of beaten almost anybody in the football league on that day. Should be fun, i predict a 2 - 2 draw but with Willy Gueret in our goal we could easily sneak it 2 - 1.

we can all be sure though, it is going to be extremely entertaining and tense

anyone would think that you are top of the league, and if we rely on our midfield why would it be our downfall ? is our midfield crap then ? 27 goals from midfielders is poor form i suppose. and as for your performance being top notch against leeds why would that mean anything ? we are 22 points clear of them a little bit of a difference in class there, in comparison thats the same point difference between chelsea and bolton.

anyway whatever happens im sure leicester will give a 100 % proffesional display and hopefully make it 21 games without defeat roared on by a huge following. and if you do mangage to scrape a win then what does it prove ? we have already beat you this season.

What he said. It's quite obvious with that many goals from midfield they aren't that bad. And if the MK midfield is so amazing, then for them not to be top, the rest of their team must be vulnerable, and should be targeted.

Saw MK lose 3-2 to Carlisle not that long ago - If we play well, we will win! Simple as. We have more quality throughout. Just hope we bring our A game on Sat!

Well done for having considerable threat in many positions. Didn't score at our place though did you? 2 - 0.

We knew this after the first game of this season. 2 - 0.

Luckily for us we have that little bit of quality that means even in games where we are not necesserilly playing well we can still get the win. We are a very different side to how we were in January, historically (even though that isn't very long) a bad month for us.

First game of the season. You didn't play well. You lost. 2 - 0.

One of your 46 league games in fact. Enjoy. How this equates to 'one of the games of the season' is beyond my comprehension. Sorry. For you possibly. For us? No chance.

How can relying heavily on a midfield possibly be a major downfall? Not having a midfield - yes, but having one where each player has contributed a number of goals from a variety of positions is hardly a downfall.

How many leagues are you counting down through here? One, two, blue square, sunday league...? Toughest defence? :appl:2 - 0.

Step up a gear? From reverse into neutral? 2 - 0. You enjoy, as fans, the larger crowds yes, but your players? Not in front of 23 321 - crumbled: 2 - 0. (Willy Wonka Gueret was in goal btw.)

we can all be sure though, it is going to be extremely entertaining and tense

Entertaining? Yes. Tense? No, not for us.

2 - 0. :scarf:

Di Matteo gets his excuses in early :P

Published Date:

25 February 2009 By James Chard Di Matteo says Leicester have it easy Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo believes title rivals Leicester City belong in the top six of the Championship rather than down in League One.

Ahead of this Saturday's top of the table clash against the Foxes, the Dons boss admitted that he can't help but be a tad jealous of the embarrassment of riches Nigel Pearson's side has at its disposal.

The Italian said: "Leicester for me is really a Championship side.

"They could probably be top six in the Championship and they are very well equipped all over the pitch.

"With Matty Fryatt is a big threat, Steve Howard, Lloyd Dyer, Matt Oakley, it is a good team.

"If you look at the club, the squad, supporters, the budget, they have everything that Championship clubs have.

"When they lose one player they just get another in.

"They just got Wayne Brown from Hull and they have others who they have signed from Blackpool and Liverpool – that makes a big difference."

Di Matteo's side found themselves completely outclassed on the first day of the season at the Walkers Stadium and few would have been predicted the Dons would have been second to Leicester after that game.

And Di Matteo insists that Saturday's match will prove just how far his side have come in the space of six months.

"The team has changed quite a bit from the first game of the season when we had a difficult pre-season and the kick off probably came a bit too early for us," he said.

"It was very unsettling at the time as we had players who were leaving and players who were injured. But let's not talk about the past."

The game will attract one of the biggest crowds this season with Leicester bringing more than 4,500 fans to stadium:mk.

A Dons win would leave them nine points behind the leaders, but with two games in hand and in touching distance.

While the Dons boss is refusing to build the game up too much, he does admit that it is the sort of fixture that his players relish.

"It is going to be a big game and we are looking forward to it as it is one of those games you want to play in as a player.

"I think this game is not only for the fans, it is for us as well as we are still fighting to hold onto our place. It'll be a huge game for everbody involved in the club."

Di Matteo was relieved to announce he has few injury problems for the game.

"Sean O'Hanlon is back in the squad, Luke Howell is back in the squad, everyone seems to be fit at the moment."

"But Luke Chadwick is still a doubt and Tore Andre Flo is now training separately from the team at the moment."

Di Matteo said it is too early to judge whether Chadwick is fit enough to play or not, but Shaun Cummings is available.

He blatantly didn't watch us in the Championship last season, with players like Mattock, Fryatt, Howard, Oakley still in the team.

Top 15 in the Championship id say at the moment, maybe top half but top 6 come on Roberto

against our team filled with injured and unfit players who had had at most a pre season or two under a new manager?

we aren't the same side we were back then.

and as to the comment, the rest of our team is not weak, but we do have a fairly decent midfield, as you say, if we attack you you'll enjoy it, same for us if you rely on midfield alot
