davieG Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Pearson Plays Down Cup Finalhttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...-cup-final.html You know its a big game when theres almost a page on it in the Daily Telegraph sport. Page 9 if you have it, but im sure most of you are reading the Sun or the Daily Star "Perhaps Nigel Pearson's protestations that Saturday's meeting between Leicester City and Milton Keynes Dons, first and second in League One respectively, is just another game in another long season would have been easier to believe had the Leicester manager not forced his hand through his trousers, ripping open his pocket, as he said it." Even Pearsons nervous hes putting his hand in his pocket!!! Maybe the pocket ripping is a sign of exasperation at all the facile questions he gets asked, after all he's probably just been through it all with Stringer.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Got draw written all over this game....
Matt Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Looks like close to a sell out - Aslong as MK Dons OS isn't like ours. According to the MK Dons site there are 1000 tickets remaining, Apparently they have been selling at a rate of 1000 tickets a day this week. What is their 'capacity' because it is just lower tier isn't it. And I hope the accoustics at Stadium MK are better than at the Walkers, Di Matteo "Expects Great Atmosphere" apparently.
Craig Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Capacity is 22000. Yeah, i think the capacity for our game with them is 19000 though i read on their forum. Not sure why, as segregation shouldn't take up that much space
davieG Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 I think it was built for 30K+ but it lacks the necessary seats It's got seats for 22k but I think it's only got a H&S license for 19K or so I seem to remember reading somewhere.

Part Of The Crowd Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Health and Safety certificates only allow us 19,000 at the moment, it was only 17,500 allowed for the Leeds game but after that went off well it was increased. According to other Dons fans, there were only 700 tickets left at 10 this morning
Thracian Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Yeah, i think the capacity for our game with them is 19000 though i read on their forum. Not sure why, as segregation shouldn't take up that much space I really don't get this 19,000 crap. H&S inspectors clearly think the ground is capable of holding 22,000 safely. Providing policing already costs far more than it should yet, presumably, MK like other clubs before them, have been advised it would be wise to leave so many spaces, anything from 500 to 3,000. Will that loss of revenue come off the Police bill or what? Strikes me as straightforward restraint of trade. I watched a Tigers game not to long ago, Lord Have Mercy! We were crammed in there like sardines and there was hardly a policeman in sight. I know some games have a history and are potential trouble spots but there's no "previous" with MK Dons. Strikes me as yet another excuse for another dose of official mothering on behalf of the nanny state. .
davieG Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 I think with new stadiums you have to demonstrate through actual games that you can cope with an ever increasing number until you reach the maximum hence the increase since the Leeds game - still over the top H&S protectionism.

It is quite surprising about the health and safety restrictions, but it's something to do with it getting signed off over a period of time - how long i'm not sure. Seeing as we've been playing there for over 18 months it can't be too far off. When we first moved there the pre season friendlies were restricted to something like 8000.
leicesterseddon Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 i think we had to do the same thing, but we could do it with friendlies so by the opening game we'd got our safety certificate. we got 32K for a friendly against barcelona (ronaldinho's first match ) - or am i thinking of the wrong season?

RedOnRed Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Am I mistaken but it's just starting to sink in what a mouth watering fixture and game this is tomorrow...and the weather doesn't look too bad! Win or lose i'm just looking forward to it to be honest. How are you lot getting down, car or coach?
Fox in a Box Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 There here there there there every fooking where round-a-bouts round-a-bouts

Daggers Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Am I mistaken but it's just starting to sink in what a mouth watering fixture and game this is tomorrow... Arsenal v Fulham Chelsea v Wigan or Middlesbrough v Liverpool I'd always had you down as a TV Spurs fan myself.
RedOnRed Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 There herethere there there every fooking where round-a-bouts round-a-bouts You can't tell me that you prefer traffic lights?
davieG Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 You can't tell me that you prefer traffic lights? We're well on our way to have traffic lights on every island.
RedOnRed Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 We're well on our way to have traffic lights on every island. So are we, but only at peak times. It looks like a national thing.
Legend_in_blue Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 Tomorrow we will win the league. A 15 point difference will make us unstoppable. Bring it on.
Ultra Posted 28 February 2009 Posted 28 February 2009 Some cup final that was for the franchise. Fewer than 14k (home fans) for their biggest game of the season and over 4000 empty seats. They're a poor person's sky blues - no mean feat given the chav element at the Ricoh.. :o

Our ground is still restricted below the current potential capacity of 22,000 due to health and safety reasons and it being a new ground. Apparently you got 4500 tickets or something and that's why we had something like 14000. Easy to get really.
