MKDs cup final then!

I saw quite a bit of Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool merchandise in the home ends.

Are the Dons just a second-to-sixth team for the regulars?

How dare you make such insinuations about them Corky!

I'm sure they've been loyal followers of their club and its proud history for generations...

You still don't get it do you? Our ground is still restricted below the current potential capacity of 22,000 due to health and safety reasons and it being a new ground. Apparently you got 4500 tickets or something and that's why we had something like 14000. Easy to get really.

TV and other footage suggest that the home areas were far from full.

The restrictions on capacity were not in evidence last year when England U-21 played there, and the crowd was about 22k.

The fact is your core support is poor. Indeed, if it wasn't for day-trippers (who, according to many reports, didn't even both to hide their real allegiances) together with a few hundred City fans who managed to blag tickets directly from MK, the home support may not even have reached five figures.

This season apart, you've never been meaningful rivals to us and never will be, despite the delusions of some of your colleagues on here.

Meaningful Rivals? There not even a real club! :giggle:

It was ridiculous. There were a few lads walking round the pitch before the game, one had a Man Utd jacket and another had a Chelsea one.

How can you honestly wear merchandise of another English club at a match? There may well be some genuine Dons fans out there (who weren't into football before the club moved, I know it's not great but it's better than claiming to follow a "big" club as well), but these people are a joke.

OK, i'll just get my Statto head on...

The attendance for that England under 21 match was 20,222 and would've been hosted directly by The FA. The capacity of the ground is restrcited but is currently officially 22,000 and will be 32,000, when and if the upper tier is installed. There's also scope for the ground to be converted to a 45,000 seater stadium.

This season our average gate is 10,216 which is quite respectable for the league and gives us the fourth highest league average attendance after Leeds, Leicester and Huddersfield in that order. On average our stadium is about 46.4% full and there's 9 other clubs in the league that have a lesser percentage then that - most notably Peterborough, Oldham and Millwall who also all get significantly lower average gates then us.

In the last two seasons in League 2 we had the second highest average league gate.

Are you saying that away support doesn't count or should be in brackets? IE, when Man UTD play away their travelling support, most of which probably lives no where near Manchester should all be broken down and accounted for.

The fact of the matter is your highest league attendance so far this season is 23,390 and with a capacity of 32,500 it means we've come a damn sight closer to filling our stadium then you have yours.

Of which roughly 2,00 support Man U, 2,000 support Chelsea, 2,000 support Arsenal and 2,000 support Spurs. Sounds awesome.

I'm sure there are people on this forum more in the know than I on this one, but aren't Man U's away fans renowned for generally being Mancunians?

Generally yes, although Execs tend to keep their tickets for the big games.

They live all over the country and the world and typically have no links to Manchester. I once knew a bloke from Manchester who lived walking distance from Old Trafford and he said he could never get a ticket for Old Trafford for all of the people coming in from all round the country. I also used to work with a bloke who was born and bred in London that supported them.

I remember Viz holding a sort of competition years ago to find out which Man UTD lived closest to Manchester. After a few months there was someone in Somerset or some where. Alright that was only a joke but it put it into perspective a bit.

So what? You think we don't know that big clubs have glory hunting fans?

We're talking about the proper Mancunian supporters of Man U who go to away games, stand and sing for ninety minutes. As I've said, my assumption was only a qualified guess but Ched appears to have backed that up for me.

In any case, I'd rather be a glory hunting armchair fan than "support" the scum of the Football League that are MK Dons...

Who's asking you to support us?

Some have described us as glory hunters. Backing a team arriving under administration and two relegations aint that.

Why are you assuming that all fans are there to support MK Dons? There are some people who just want to go and watch a match you know, and they might not be able to afford/get tickets for those clubs. Yes, they probably shouldn't be wearing the merch, but I've been to two Sheffield derbies and worn my Leicester scarf twice in the Wednesday ends.

I'm a joke.

Fair enough, that's your choice, I'm just not a fan of it to be honest, but each to their own :)

:D I really couldn't give a shit! (About what people wear, not your opinion!)

EDIT: I'd rather moan about atmopshere than clothes.

We were talking about filling it with home support to capacity. The capacity of our ground is something under 22,000 and the upper tier is excluded.

The implication is, and it looks like you need help here, is that you perhaps don't need to bother finishing the job off.

Came to watch Leicester - they really did only come to watch Leicester...next week they'll be back to catching the train to London or up North to see their main teams. Maybe they'll just watch MOTD.

Will they be watching the Huddersfield match? Will they ****.

Looks like you've got a bit of over capacity going on yourselves though what with peaking this season at two thirds of it.

It's called building for the future though isn't it.
