Apart from the 'banter' between the scousers and the mancs and that everyone is very like minded in their attitude to standing/modern football in general which is quite refreshing. Does lead to a fair few pretty boring threads though with a load of people just agreeing that such and such ridiculous new initiative is a bunch of bollocks or whatever.

Its not the most active forum only about 5 threads a day on average but everyone on there is very likeminded and some of the stories other clubs have to tell can be very fascinating. The admin are the ones really behind the campaign but they have been pretty quiet recently. I firmly believe something is changing, our support has stood much more away from home this season compared to years previous and the same can be said with all clubs on represented on there, even Everton. Same story at home more are switching to L/K to stand and pretty much every club has a recognized standing area at their home ground. Some entire ends behind the goal like spurs and west ham who have around 4,000 every game to clubs such as Reading where about 2-300 congregate.

But until the bone idol, no doubt like yourself, put your weight behind the campaign only small battles will be won. The FLA are being very stubborn to the point where they are now embarrasing themselves with made up facts. They are only worthwhile because they have something to try and stop, standing areas. The campaign is moving, but in the eyes of Joe public, it probably doesn't exist.

The previous sports minister Dick Caborn used to bang on about there being a 40% increase in woman attending since the seats were introducedFSF challenged him show the evidence - he couldn't - so we requested that he stop saying it and he did, because he had to. This one sounds v similar - point is, if they start making statements like this - flag 'em up and they'll get challenged. The FLA, and I say this in the full knowledge that I'm not using a pseudonym on here, are cavalier with their use of stats - they're poor at collecting them, they interpret them to the point of fiction and we know for certain that their last report contains downright lies. The more people that challenge their statements the better - that way they can't dismiss the people that do keep putting them under pressure as "obsessives" as they've done in the past. Why do the FLA do what they do with the stats? because JDQ's main and only interest is in keeping his job - in my opinion... and if safestanding is shown to be safe, which it is, he hasn't got one.

It wasn't a dig, i was just asking what they had acheived, a simple question, yes i support standing area's as much as the next person. All i was simply asking was what they had achieved so far as i know they have been going for a while.

I don't go to football grounds to watch a theatre performance or a film - I go to be part of an age-old tradition which involves both football on the pitch and fan interaction off of it. In my mind you can't have one without the other. As far as I can tell everyone in block L stands every game, as do a good proportion of us at the top of K. A couple of pathetic stickers on the seat backs thankfully didn't do anything to deter us! I fully understand the health and safety rules, but I'd argue they are outdated and ridiculous. Was there even the slightest hint of 'danger' on the terrace at Bristol on Saturday? Of course not!
