Speculating on our finances & future

What do we know about Milan Mandaric's finances in relation to the current economic troubles?

The reason I ask is becasue promotion is almost certain, therefore investment will be needed in the squad for next season. I am very concerned about the ST plans before the 15th of March. The club have sent me 2 e-mail s and 1 text message telling me not to forget about the deadline (heaven forbid  ). There must be some reason why the club want money in ASAP! Is Mandaric looking to balance the books to sell the club :fc: ?

If I was to speculate how the club has been run since Mandaric has taken over, I would speculate that his money has never been injected into the club, but money will have come from loans guaranteed by Mandaric. These loans are now much more to difficult to come by. I am worried about what kkind of team we will be able to afford to put out "if" my speculation is correct? I believe that from the outset of this tenure at LCFC Mandaric has only ever wanted Premiership football, because that brings a cash windfall around £40m which I doubt LCFC would see much of. Therefore I believe "if" promotion was achieved to the Premiership under Mandaric we would have little chance of competing with the other teams in the Premiership.

I know it is all speculation, but there are some strange things going on with the football club!

Why have they changed the policy on ST renewals? This is highly irregular!

Mandaric's talk of a 3 year plan did not include relagation, which has had "some" benefit, clearing deadwood. That means back to back promotions (unlikley ) !

With the early season ticket renewal thing there's probably 4 options:

1) He wants to jack up the price but disguise that fact he's doing it. He knows quite a lot of people will renew after the deadline and he'll have a bigger fistful of queens heads to wipe his arse with

2) He, as you say, wants to balance the books so he can sell the club.

3) He a lot more brass than we thought, he needs the cash now just to keep the club ticking over.

4) He wants to get the cash in early so we can immediately really compete in the transfer market when the season finishes (an excuse other chairmen have given before for this sort of thing.)

To be honest, I think all of them apart from number 1 are pretty unbelievable. It seems he's doing alright for himself and I don't think he'd sell for any offer he'd get in the current climate. Why would he? To be honest, he'd get peanuts now. Might as well take the chance that we'll sneak promotion to the prem and the economy will pick up over the next year or so, and then he's multiplied the value of the club by fook knows how much.

I saw him on tele talking about his other businesses in America, and he said that he might have to make cutbacks in those but the one he would not be making cutbacks on would be his project with Leicester City. Hopefully that means he will be putting up cash in the summer.

i think its very unlikely, given that the club reportedly lost c17m last season and is due to lose a similar amount this season, that Mandaric has the money, or will want to spend big on a new squad. This is one of the reasons why i think we should have brought the youth through more and not relied on loanees. I dont know much at all about the clubs finances to be honest but I do expect another season of loan signings next year. However, Pearson has made some good ones this year and will prob do so again.

rich lists (like GDP predictions) are always around two financial quarters behind reality. i'm fairly certain mandaric will lose something from this recession

he'll sell up but only when it becomes profitable for him. and i won't be sorry to see the back of him. contrary to what most city fans believe, he hasn't 'saved' the club financially at all - if anything, we're in more of a financial mess now than when he took over. club debt is in his name but has actually grown, and as soon as he sells up the next owner will have that round his neck too. he's led us to our worst league position ever - people still can't see how much of a cock-up last year really was. it's just a shame the sycophantic leicester media and most of our braindead supporters refuse to beleive it. saying that though i hope he's found 'his man' in NP - whether he fluked it or not i don't care. hopefully the damage of his meddling won't last more than a few seasons...

Last season was a complete disaster! This season is scant consolation!

I thought that Mandaric owned a company in silicon valley & isn't the computer hardware industry doing badly at present?

we're in more of a financial mess now than when he took over.

Over-paid & past-it/never up to it players' salaries, piss-poor managers' contract termination bonuses, agents' fees, backroom staff pay-offs, Director of Football hiring and firing...the man laid down a string of debt which will take years to pay off.

Although some might consider that yet another Season Ticket holder bonus.

If Mandaric is at the club this time next year I'll eat my own cock.

I'm holding you to this... Newcastle for example...

How would you like your cock served to you?

Thats Grimsby, same colours but slightly lower down..

Wasn't that twat at newcastle trying to sell them not long ago. Not really a good time to get into football or sell a club. If economists are right he'll still be here a year from now.

Fried? Grilled?

Simple economics - Newcastle don't carry a price as their future is in the balance and potentail buyers know they might pick the club up far cheaper when it drops, if they are still interested. City (Mandy) were entertaining a credible bid dependant on us staying up - we didn't. Mandaric was seeking potential suitors in order to cut his losses and there is no reason to assume that this will not be the case when we move back up.

He doesn't need to solve all debts, most are secured against the club and will be passed on by the next buyer to the one after that - he simply needs to correct the immediate deficit in his pocket and that will be through the early income from ST's and a player sale.

As much as I'm happy to eat my own cock on this if I'm wrong - I'm amazed at the fanbase being happy to bend over and be continually fucked...

Wait and see

the rate we are declining as a nation.. I can't see anyone investing. We're hardly an investment for overseas.

The dream consortium:

Lineker, Gok Wan, Willie Thorne, Showaddywaddy, Engelbert Humperdinck, Richard Attenborough, Emile Heskey and Tom from Kasabian.

They re-name the stadium the Frankie Wortho Arena, they stop playing Chelsea Dagger after goals, they bring in a red away kit and we are in Europe within 2 years.

That'll do...

I don`t think mandaric is struggling with finances for the club, i remember hearing him say that he has had offers to buy leicester as finacially we are attractive to purspective buyers. When you think about it I agree as he has now bought back our stadium as far as I know, we don`t hold much debt and when we get back into the championship and attendences start to raise again then we will start to make profit once again. If he is serious about us getting promoted from the championship how much money do we all think it`s going to take.

I also disagree that it would be bad for leicester to get back to back promotions because as anyone will tell you the premiership is only place to be, last time I knew premiership clubs get 60 million in sky revenue alone, so even if we as club didn`t see much of that money then it`s such a massive injection of money that would make it more likley that Mandaric could sell us on. This makes sense after all he doesn`t see himself here longterm in my opinion, he will try and do the same for us as he did portsmouth perhaps?
