StanSP Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Anyone else got this? http://www.spotify.com/en/ Downloadable application where you can listen to any track absolutely free. Released Tracks, Albums, B-Sides, covers, tributes. Virtually anything is accessible and it's all free. At the moment, I'm finding it better than iTunes simple because you don't have to listen to 30seconds clips of tracks that you want to buy - you can actually listen to them in full with Spotify, any time and anywhere. I recommend it highly
StanSP Posted 9 March 2009 Author Posted 9 March 2009 No I registered after they found out about the breach last week. I don't know if that makes any difference...
Joe. Posted 9 March 2009 Posted 9 March 2009 Never heard of this before surprisingly. Looks alright, I'll give it a go.
hairy Posted 10 March 2009 Posted 10 March 2009 Its the latest in the next generation of streaming media. Ditch last.fm and get a spotify account

StanSP Posted 31 March 2009 Author Posted 31 March 2009 This is brilliant. Glad you like it . Quite surprised no-one else had listened to/heard of it before I made this thread. And I thought the adverts would get annoying, but they aren't!
General Smuts Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Can someone invite me please. Apparently it's an invitation only thing.
Joe. Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Can someone invite me please. Apparently it's an invitation only thing. It's not...
Wycombe Fox Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 It's only by invitation if you live outside the UK. I registered on this yesterday - it's bloody brilliant!
Basingstoke Fox Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Is it free to download the music then? Just that Im on it at the moment and cant find where to download something. Listening to the Pendulum live album at the moment, Magic People Voodoo People!

Listening to the Pendulum live album at the moment, Magic People Voodoo People! You don't download music. It's like iTunes. Just listen to music. But you can't download any of the tracks.
Finchy Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Anyone got any Spotify playlists to share? I have a Reading 09 one which I like rather a lot http://open.spotify.com/user/jaybee1990/pl...GMOp34dlTqZOmRP

Darkzzz_ Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Haven't tried it, I have a last.fm account which I use as my trial for bands. If I like them, I download their stuff and they go into my itunes list. I don't think I will need to use spotify but the whole idea sounds great if you mainly listen to music on your laptop without the need for downloading the content.

That is the only thing that annoys me about last.fm. The majority of the tracks you can't listen to or you have 30 second clips or something. Might give it a trial this weekend, Is the programme a reasonable size?
Joe. Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 The only downside to the programme is that you have to listen to a short advert every 4 or 5 songs. Little to complain about though really when you consider what you're getting from it.
Finchy Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Absolutely love it, today was the first time i've opened iTunes in weeks, and that was only to update my iPhone software

StanSP Posted 18 June 2009 Author Posted 18 June 2009 The only downside to the programme is that you have to listen to a short advert every 4 or 5 songs. Little to complain about though really when you consider what you're getting from it. The funny side of that is if you try and turn the volume right down to skip it, the ad automatically pauses. So you HAVE to listen to it.
