Would you buy your wife a Mother's Day card?

But then I guess that as most all men need mothering by their wives/girlfriends, perhaps a card is appropriate...........:whistle:

Though, like Lisa, if an other-half bought me one, they'd get a slap.

In answer to the original question, if Sir Fynwy was to present to me a card on Mothering Sunday, he would get a slap.
It would be weird, particularly if you don't have any kids

I bought me Mrs a Mothers day card on behalf of our daughte.

But as she cant write(she is only 6 months old) might get her to drool all over it!!!

Should be no problem if she is teething.

On a plus note, my best friend had a little girl the other night; I wonder if her hubby will be buying her a card.

Buying a card on day designed for children seems a bit odd. Not really a major issue though.

Not sure how you reach the conclusion that it's "designed for children", I would have thought it is a (manufactured) celebration of mothers. As Mrs HF is the mother of my children, am I exempt from showing my appreciation on this particular day?

I'm unlikely to buy my own mother a card so wtf would I waste money on one for my wife, if we had kids they could make their own decisions whether to buy one (even at <1 year old), just like valentines this is a stupid rip off aimed at making money for the card/flower/chocolate industry.

And they say that romance is dead, Pffft.

Ha well I make all my own cards so none of these alleged 'special days for people' are a rip off to me. I would hope Ella makes/gets me a card but I wouldn't expect one of anyone else.

heh, do you think the 'half bottle of wine' is like in the simpson's where they win a half bottle, and it is a full bottle with half the wine gone - sounds about right for leicester city.... :giggle:

At least it's better than this bollocks :P

women - don't remember having this in england, but it's quite big...apparently...

the tradition here is to wish 'gratulerer med dagen' ( happy birthday ) to all the women

I don't have any children (that I know of, anyway), and I don't have a wife (that I know of :P) so it rules me out.

Mum in law!!

My mum in laws great, she cooks the best food for me, I get treated like royalty, cus she knows if she doesn't, i'm gonna treat her daughter like shit!!!!

I personally wouldn't buy my mrs a card for anything, there manufactured messages, I believe in the more personal touch, so instead I wish her a happy do and so and offer her sex,....she for some reason is never pleased with either!!!

Why should a card for your "wife and mother" be so surprising to someone living on the Isle of Wight?

You're thinking of West Wight, where the family tree has no branches!
