I went into Tesco today to buy a Mother's Day card for my mum and mum-in-law and noticed that they are selling cards to give to your wife on Mother's Day!

'With love to my wife on Mother's Day'

WTF?

Freud would have a field day!

In answer to the original question, if Sir Fynwy was to present to me a card on Mothering Sunday, he would get a slap.

sorry , but yes i would , and have done so .

my wife is a wonderful partner to me , but she is also a wonderful mother to my children ,

and i don't mind telling her how much i appreciate her both as a wife and mother :)

if it helps clinton's cards or hallmark make a profit , so what

ps she usually express her gratitude to me in much nicer ways

I'm with the Zing on this.

I am probably guilty of not saying the right things at the right times to Mrs HF so any opportunity I get to right this and I'm on it.

Fair play but you can show her you appreciate those things by taking her out for a meal or putting your face in for half an hour. Buying a card on day designed for children seems a bit odd. Not really a major issue though.
