Jon the Hat Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 rugby a game played by thugs but watched by gentlemen ! football a game played by gentlemen but watched by thugs ! i should know as i live in rugby !! Rugby is a thugs game played by gentlemen, and Football is gentlemens game played by thugs.
Alexikokopops Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Because ALL football fans are mindless violent thugs who fight at any opportunity, can't handle their drink and cannot possibly stand in a safe environment. Given events at Millwall (home and away) and Norwich (H)/Coventry (A) (just off the top of my head) last season it's no surprise the authorities think that (about the drinking, not the standing)
ACF Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 AFL has the home and away supporters sitting together, AND you can take the booze to your seat.
welck12 Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 AFL has the home and away supporters sitting together, AND you can take the booze to your seat. AFL games have the same sort of mentality as the rugby games do over here. During the match the players kick crap outta each other, then after the game they all go the pub together. Thus the governing bodies know that the fans will have the same respect for each other that the players do. Seems to work in my opinion of all the rugby/afl games i've been to; what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch.
Corky Posted 26 March 2009 Posted 26 March 2009 I'd like the club to sell Dr Pepper or Vimto at matches. May tempt me to queue up and purchase.
