Sam Posted 30 April 2005 Posted 30 April 2005 I just thought that I'd start a topic about Connolly as everytime I say something bad about him or if I say that he didn't play well usually people will strongly disagree with me. I just genuinely don't like him as a player at all I think he's arrogant, selfish and don't understand why people will always jump so quikly to defend him. So what I'd like to know is what you like about him. Or if your like me and don't like him which I don't think there is anyone then what don't you like about him.
C-man Posted 30 April 2005 Posted 30 April 2005 Without Conners we would have been relegated because we would have scored clsoe to no goals. Enough said.
Guest freund Posted 30 April 2005 Posted 30 April 2005 yes i agree, i dont like him either. i havent seen him play recently, but i can always remember thinking hes really selfish. he just seemed so desperate to score, he never passed, even with a really good ball, and shot from like outside the box for an easy save. really annoyed me
Scarby Posted 30 April 2005 Posted 30 April 2005 Hes Irish and got good hair why shouldnt you like him
filbertway Posted 30 April 2005 Posted 30 April 2005 Without Conners we would have been relegated because we would have scored clsoe to no goals. Enough said. 101282 To be honest a different style of striker may have got more goals, but i have been happy with connolly this season, as he has worked hard and been very unlucky. More than can be said about our other strikers.
TornadoShaunUK Posted 30 April 2005 Posted 30 April 2005 He has been our best player this season I would say..
C-man Posted 30 April 2005 Posted 30 April 2005 He has been our best player this season I would say.. 101294 I would agree, hes been unlucky and he tries really hard, and has scored the goals that have basically kept us up. We would have gone down with dublin and de vries up front
The_Foxes_Legend Posted 30 April 2005 Posted 30 April 2005 I like him, I'm suprised you thought he was selfish! everytime I watch to watch L.City play Connolly always play well trying hard bit like Paul Dickov however I reckon It was Tiatto who is our best player of season...
davieG Posted 30 April 2005 Posted 30 April 2005 Good strikers are selfish and often arrogant, so what's the problem, you're not planning to marry him are you? Besides it's only your perception of him unless you know him at a personal level, which I doubt. It always amazes me how often football supporters seem to know the personality traits of fooballers and managers. What matters is he doing his job, is he value for money, does he bring something to the team. On that basis alone, well he could be better but so could everyone else in the team, he's not been the worse performer and there have certainly not been that many that have been better. All IMO of course B)

Steven Posted 30 April 2005 Posted 30 April 2005 It always amazes me how often football supporters seem to know the personality traits of fooballers and managers. 101301 We all make assumptions about people on the basis of what they say and how they behave and look. I am not sure that this is entirely healthy but we are all susceptible to believing that we know "the personality traits" of various people on the basis of little evidence. Why should footballers be immune from this process?

TrickyTrev Posted 1 May 2005 Posted 1 May 2005 I neither like or dislike him. I see he has a good goal scoring record coupled with an excellent attitude but I am slo aware that he hasn't looked very good for Leicester this season. His lack of physical attributes has been very apparent and he has not been composed in front of goal. I am willing to give him time to proove me wrong but at the moment I am not sure he is going to be good enough for us if we want to gain automatic promotion.
fosseman Posted 1 May 2005 Posted 1 May 2005 We're not going to be promoted in the new season. We will do well just to improve.
Ric Flair Posted 3 May 2005 Posted 3 May 2005 7 goals in 10 games, frig off. nuff said. best striker we've got and likely to have in the next few years.
Katy Posted 3 May 2005 Posted 3 May 2005 I appreciate his goals for us but as a player im not fond of him, cant quite put my finger on why though.
silver fox Posted 3 May 2005 Posted 3 May 2005 I think he will turn out to be a good buy. He struggled early on, but his strike partners did not set the heather alight either (Dublin, Scowcroft and de Vries). He has scored 7 in the last 10 games and if he keeps that up next season we will do ok if he gets a decent strike partner. He also puts in a lot of effort.
