The Bear Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 :appl: :appl: A big congratulations from a Wolves fan. You've been far and away the best team in the league all season and deserve to come straight back up to the Championship. You did it in style by winning the title too. And I'm sure you'll kick on even further with Pearson in charge, I think he's a good manager who plays good football. Only minor, minor downside I suppose is you couldn't secure promotion in front of your own fans and get the obligatory pitch invasion, but I'm sure you'll make up for it on Friday night. Especially since you get the trophy presented as well. Also, I'm thoroughly delighted Wolves won't be playing you next season!! Good luck from one set of League Champions to the other.
StanSP Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Good luck from one set of League Champions to the other. Well done to you too mate! Thoroughly deserved promotion over the course of the season, and look destined to be Champions too soon! Good luck in the PL!

Ashley Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Thankyou, congratulations on your promotion aswell. I doubt we'll get the cup next week, I'm sure Swansea was in the same position last season and had to wait untill the last game of the season to get it.

The Bear Posted 18 April 2009 Author Posted 18 April 2009 You'll get the trophy on the last home game of the season. Football League spokesman John Nagle said: “The Championship trophy will not be there (at Molineux).“Wherever possible the presentation is made at the last home game of the season.” That would leave Wolves to wait until the May 3 swansong against Doncaster, for them to parade the traditional Football League champions trophy." EDIT - Beaten to it (I had to go and find the quote).
Darkzzz_ Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 I hope Wolves upset the big boys next season and stay up. I love Mick !!

Guest Bilo Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Thanks Bear, and best of luck in the Premier League next season! Hopefully it won't be too long before we too are celebrating promotion to the Premiership. Maybe even this time next year. Yes, I am drunk.
Jordan Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Also, I'm thoroughly delighted Wolves won't be playing you next season!! and I'm thoroughly delighted we won't be playing you the season after, when we go back to the Premiership and you come back down! But seriously, thanks, and congrats to Wolves--the Championship was definitely no Sunday League this season.
C-man Posted 18 April 2009 Posted 18 April 2009 Congratulations Bear. Well done to you, go and enjoy the moment!
