Matt Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 Floyd Mayweather Jr is reported to be coming out of retirement to fight Juan Manuel Marquez on 18 July. It will be the undefeated American's first fight since beating Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas in December 2007The 'Pretty Boy' is thought to be in the gym readying himself for a comeback fight, news of which will interest Ricky Hatton. The Manchester boxer has identified both Marquez and, in particular, Mayweather Jr as the two fights with which he wants to end his career. The first of which against Marquez, considered to be the second best pound-for-pound fighter in the world after Hatton's next opponent Manny Pacquiao, could be lined up in Manchester at the end of the year. However it would be Mayweather Jr's scalp that would be most prized by Hatton after his ten round mauling in 2007 and it would be against him that he would most like to retire. Then, as he said yesterday, "you'll never see my arse in a boxing ring again". Hatton is currently being trained by Mayweather's father and the trainer helped fuel rumours of a comeback. "Little Floyd is back in the gym but I'm not concerned about when he is fighting. I'm training Ricky Hatton now," said Floyd Mayweather Sr. "Me and my son have had a fall-out and I'm going to let it be that way." Mayweather Jr has won all of his 39 fights and boasts victories over Jose Luis Castillo, Arturo Gatti, Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah and Oscar De La Hoya among others. All keyed towards a Hatton/Mayweather rematch? Anyone? (Provided Hatton wins on Saturday)
James. Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 Losing once was bad enough but losing twice would probably end his career.
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 Can't see him beating Pacman to be honest so doubt it will happen.
Uncle Albert Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 FLOYD IS BACK! I'm not surprised to be honest if he has seen to Fighters in Hatton and Pacquiao fighting for the Pound for Pound best fighter in the world then Floyd should comeback and want his crown.
lcfc_jme Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 Hatton will lose on Saturday, but I wouldn't bet against him fighting Mayweather next year before they both retire permanently. I'll put a bit of money on Hatton on Satdee seeing as he's the underdog and it'll pay nicely, but I'd think Pacquiao will stop him in 9.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 I saw his "Crib" on TV. He has a nice house, and he's exceptionally talented, but he's a complete twat.

BoneDog Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Pacquiao put it best yesterday when he said "his time is in the past, it's my time now"
Samilktray Posted 22 May 2009 Posted 22 May 2009 Open training session, hope SSN are actually showing it. Id love to go watch him train or box tbh.
