Guest Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Just heard that he's quit, not confirmed on BBC website as yet but just mentioned on 5 Live
Bert Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 No surprise there. Fair play to him, what a fantastic job he did there. Next Newcastle manager?
Edmund Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Just heard that he's quit, not confirmed on BBC website as yet but just mentioned on 5 Live Was inevitable but still shocked, top manager though. Nothing on skysports news but don't they play rolling footage at night?

Koke Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 I think he announced it a while back. He will quit the game all together. Shame really cos he is only about 53 and he still got another 10+ years in the game.
Ultra Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 From the Reading website. No great surprise. He's probably taken them as far as he could.
Edmund Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Paul Jewell is out of work, God help us if he applies From a Reading forum
lcfc_jme Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Whoever takes over at Reading, I hope he fails. They're a nothing club with nothing fans and don't deserve anything. **** them, I hope they rot and go into free-fall.

Fox92 Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Top man, I really do like him. He did play for Manchester United so what do you expect! It was on the cards when they were relegated from the Premiership last year. But, as I watched the match, no doubt about it they were beaten by a very, very strong Burnley team. Hopefully, Burnley beat Sheffield United in the final. I cannot have everyone at college raving on about Sheffield United in the Premiership again. I hope they do it as well, nice to see an old Premierleague/division 1 team back in there and I want them to win as Graham Alexander [legend], has never played Premiership football. At 37, he is a top bloke and deserves Prem football. He keeps banging those penelties home!
Katy Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 No surprise at all. He's always been a bit of a quitter but he made Reading punch above their weight for a few years, so fair play to him.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Someone said on the playoff thread yesterday that he would walk, guess they were right. Can't see where Reading go from here really, they will probably lose Doyle, Kitson, Hunts etc. and if they do then they may just eventually go back to where they were/belong. Bye Reading
