Oh dear lord.

I actually have to pay this b*stard?

I put in that I have a clio, as I've heard they're cheap to insure. The cheapest result is something ridicularse like £2200.

- Being 17 is sh*t.

- Not having rich parents is sh*t.

So, anyway, what i'm really saying here is; Any donations? :)

... tight shits.

Other than that, could anybody help me with cheap sites or tips to a cheaper car insurance?

Thanks in advance,

poor kid who wants to drive.

Is that 3rd party only?

Tried Quinn Direct?

No, any good?

I got mine for 400 quid, but that was with mummy on the insurance.

And you're 17? That's really good. Did you put her as the main driver? I tried this on a compare site and it didn't make it any cheaper.

In that case I think we can safely say that you're fvcked.

ha, it seems so. I don't understand, though. I've not been convicted, or anything!

19 but yeah, her as main driver.

I was looking at quotes earlier for a Polo, on my own policy and they were around 1k cheaper than the next cheapest.

£844 I think it was they quoted me.

Tesco's is also good for newer drivers  They do a Tesco value version as well lol just means higher excess less royalties.

The reason why some insurers are giving you high quotes is because each insurance broker will favour certain fields. Just do a few quick comparasent on moneysupermarket/comparethemeerkat simples

Then also look around at the ones that aern't on comparasent sites. If you do find your cheapest quote on a comparasent site just cut out the middle man and go to the site direct works out cheaper in the past for me.

Be prepared to spend the next hour monotonously typing the same information over and over and over etc

The reason it costs so much for young drivers is that you don't see that many 49 year olds slamming their souped-up hot hatch into a tree at 3am, because they were busy skinning up for their 6 pals in the back.

If you are willing to restrict your hours, undergo a curfew, pay more for night driving, etc, there are a few Insurers who will give you a discount.

My 1st one was £800 on a Polo group 3.

This year on a car with group 8 insurance was £710.

Get a parent to insure the car and you become a named driver. It's the ONLY way to keep it cheap.

If you are only a named driver but in reality you are the main user of a vehicle, and you have an accident, the insurers are within their rights to void the policy for misrepresentation of the risk, leaviing you to pick up the bill. If they even get a sniff that someone is driving on a "fronted" policy, they instruct investigators and will try to kick out the claim.

so you know...

Yeah I do.

Risk I'll happily take, my current car would have been over £2k insurance otherwise.

I'm getting pissed off now. Moneysupermarket gave me £3370.20. I must be putting something that isn't accurate? Does it make a difference that I'm saying that I want a 2001 Clio? I heard clio's are cheap to insure, but this seems more expensive, if anything. I feel like crying and running around in a circle.

Thanks for the help, though. I don't know why I can't find anything cheap. :@
