Sods Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Looking forward to this for some time, and with only 4 days for it to start I reckon we should get the thread going. Who's everybody looking forward to watching, who do you think will win it?. Oh the warm up games are on tv at the moment, Australia v Bangledesh or Netherlands v Ireland on the red button.
StanSP Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 11 years to go. Bit early to start this. Is it on Sky?? If so . But hope India win this
Fox You Forest Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Australia cruising, the Bangladeshi's don't half make a racket in the field.
Fox You Forest Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Yes Bangladesh! Could be interesting if they keep this up.
Fosse Boy Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 We invented this format, and really ought to be one of the favourites for this kind of tournament. I'm pretty happy with the fact that we seem to have gone for quite a lot of players who have proven themselves domestically in Twenty20 instead of our past selection policy of assuming that our centrally contracted/ODI regulars are the best men for the job. Having seen Ravi Bopara smash that twat Andre Nel for two consecutive sixes to bring up his fifty at Chelmsford on Friday, I'm hoping he has a really good tournament. Players like him, Napier and Morgan can hopefully reproduce the kind of form they show for their counties in this variant of the game and give us a good chance of progressing. But, as it's England, I feel inclined to be pessimistic about our chances of doing well, even on home turf.

Shrenchel Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 This. I had to read the whole thread twice before I understood what was going on.
Brainy Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Bangladesh have put up a decent fight. Watson and Haddin have made the difference though. Happy Finnegan?
Milky Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Watching Netherlands vs Ireland. Come on Netherlands! woah this is tight
Milky Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 woah this is tight Tied! Have a bowl out you goons! Booooooooo oh, looks like they're carrying on. One over each. Ireland scored just 6 from the super over and Holland are out for 2. comical
Milky Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 There aren't too many better sights in cricket than seeing an Indian crowd silenced. The gimpy dancing, the horns, the constant shouting at even a single. Gets on ya tits that.
The Reverend Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Bit early to start a 2020 cricket thr...... Oh. Its been done already.
purpleronnie Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 I think the Houston sun is getting to me but I fancy a big outside bet on West Indies..........or India.
Ultra Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 It's a very open tournament. But India and Australia are probably favourites.

Gets on ya tits that. Yeah because every other country's spectators just sits there silently during a T20 match.
Fox You Forest Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 It's a very open tournament. True, excluding Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands it really could be anybody. Even Bangladesh showed that you're going to have to play well to beat them.
