Finnegan Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 Being British is about watching American TV shows on a Japanese television eating Indian food phoning friends on your Korean mobile phone to arrange a meeting in an Irish pub, where you will drink Belgian beer and discuss the merits of your favourite Spanish footballer after which you will phone for a Polish taxi driver to take you home in his German car. But the most British thing of all?Fear of anything foreign.
Asha Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 The fact of the matter is, the BNP manifesto details "assisted relocation" of everyone in this country who is not white back to their "home nation" whether or not their family's been here since slavery. This is inherently racist. If you vote for this - or even justify it - you are racist.Whether or not you believe immigration laws should be firmer, we should have capital punishment or you agree with any other of their policies - to go so far as to vote for them is to accept and encourage the rise to power of fascism, proven racism and welcome a holocaust denying former member of the National Front to power. This would be the single greatest betrayal of every member of our community who is not a white "ethnic Brit" and would be spitting in the faces of countless millions for the sakes of your bigotry, ignorance and abject stupidity. Fantastic post.

Superb stuff Finners. You've outlined exactly why the BNP should never be in power.
flanimal Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 Yes, as much as it pains me to applaud Finnegan, he has hit the nail on the head there superbly. People would be surprised how many BNP supporters don't fully understand the ethos of the party and how thinly veiled their racism is. Hearing a BNP supporter talk to you is seriously sinister stuff. They can never be allowed to get into power.
stez Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 I wonder how far back in our genealogy each of us is actually British. We have even less right than some currently centre-right countries such as France and Italy to claim that this land is ours. I don't know whether I'm a Saxon, a Roman, Norseman or a Norman. I'm probably not a Celt. The British Nazi Party, in my mind, certainly has no claim to the real meaning of the acronym they use. i've asked them this loads of times, they never bother with reasonable response.
Edmund Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 2 threads on politics leading to immigration and not one post by Thracian.
Flynny Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 Thracian's not got it in him to vote BNP, especially when there's other idiotic right-wing 'common sense' parties like the English Democrats who are much less racist. He might have voted UKIP though.
Shrenchel Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 They would renationalise the railways and end the smoking ban though so swings and roundabouts really.

I know he wouldn't vote bnp, im sure he said in the last election debate a couple weeks back that he was voting conservative I just know he enjoys these debates
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 Says who? Oh come on, come out with an intelligent point please. It is widely accepted that after World War two and the state the country was in there was a need for full employment. A lot of these jobs that needed to be filled were undesired and unskilled jobs, which British people didn't want, which is why Labour was so pro immigration, it was only when the Nottinghill riots and Nottingham riots occured that opinion of this changed in government. There was a lot of resentment amongst areas of England such as East London and feared being swamped. Without doubt immigration helped this country hugely and even now the vast majority of people wanting to come to this country or who have migrated to this country do the jobs that British people don't want. There has been an emphasis in this country to get people into tetiary industry rather than industrys to help develop the countrys prospects, whether this is a good policy or not is not my point, but now we still need people to do these jobs, hence the reason that there are so many Polish builders.
Webbo Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 Did anyone see the BNP party election broadcast on the TV last week? They were talking about how the people of this country had defeated fascism. Cheeky bastards.

Many Caribbean families were encouraged to move to Britain by the Conservative Government of the 1950s. The Health Secretary was particularly keen - a certain J. Enoch Powell. He later recanted these views and became a rabble-rouser of the far right, much beloved by the BNP and their National Front predecessors.
Ultra Posted 4 June 2009 Author Posted 4 June 2009 I always thought british people never needed campaigns like this to stop people voting BNP they we're too smart for that, but some posts on here have changed my mind, seems people really do believe what they read in the paper. But thankfully most on here have posted very intelligently (especially Flynny). I still dont know why people whould consider voting BNP, I would love to hear why. Obviously not, judging by the figures on the "Who're you're voting for?" thread... I still haven't had an answer from any of the 14 pro-BNP fcukwits as to why voting BNP is compatible with supporting a multi-racial, multi-national club such as Leicester City.

Anybody who even suggests that the BNP are worth a vote is shot down in flames on this thread, which is good to see.

Ultra Posted 4 June 2009 Author Posted 4 June 2009 I'd guess at least 12 of them were on a wind up ...and probably not old enough to vote, just kids trying to look "hard".

Thanks mate, I've got a British politics exam on monday and knew all about his rivers of blood speech and the racialisation of british politics but I didn't know that, I'll double check it, but thats a great point to put it.
Milky Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 ...and probably not old enough to vote, just kids trying to look "hard". ...or to get a reaction out of people like yourself.
Ultra Posted 4 June 2009 Author Posted 4 June 2009 i never had an answer off you as to why my not voting would be a vote for the BNP Abstaining would indicate a certain degree of indifference about the outcome of the election. Don't give me that "they're all as bad as each other" crap. I don't see David Cameron celebrating the nailbombing of London pubs, Nick Clegg telling non-white people they can't be British or Gordon Brown fantasising about the execution of political opponents (and given the number of those, that's definitrly a good thing.. )
Ultra Posted 4 June 2009 Author Posted 4 June 2009 ...or to get a reaction out of people like yourself. Well the figures on the poll on the other thread wouldn't give Powell or any of the other black or overseas City players much comfort either.

Ultra Posted 4 June 2009 Author Posted 4 June 2009 Well watch this video and see for yourself what the BNP are about. There are no shortage of alternatives on the ballot paper - only TWELVE other parties in the East Midlands.
Webbo Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 I'll stick my neck out and say that the BNP might pick up a few more council seats they won't get anywhere near a Euro seat.
