Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Go back to your fixed, racist, homophobic FXT Factor For this sentence alone, that contest was worth it. Some of the stuff in that thread had me in tears. Last time it went up in a complete cloud of smoke from what I can remember... lasted a couple of weeks and then petered out completely with no eventual winner or anything. And yet it still got mentioned umpteen times in the FXT Final thread. It came, it shocked a few people, turned a few heads, maybe even aroused one or two forum members, but you're right, ultimately, it's life was untimely cut short. Sometimes, things don't have to stick around to be remembered. Ayrton Senna will always be more respected, loved, and famous than David Coulthard. And that's what this competition is. It's David Coulthard. Unloved, unappreciated and easily forgettable. MTWG Factor was Ayrton Senna. And the team behind it was Ferrari. Top drawer.
lildave3 Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Free-ee-ee, Nelson James-ela! WE WANT JAMES. WE WANT JAMES. WE WANT JAMES.
lildave3 Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 For this sentence alone, that contest was worth it. Some of the stuff in that thread had me in tears. I believe it was Moloko who once said - 'Bring it back, sing it back, bring it back, sing it back to me'.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 I believe it was Moloko who once said - 'Bring it back, sing it back, bring it back, sing it back to me'. No ever used Babycakes though. Disappointed.
FilboFox Posted 25 September 2009 Author Posted 25 September 2009 Yep, but we didn't have a script to follow. After trying my damndest to set out clear rules for ages last night that make sense so that everyone on here can have a fair competition and just have a bit of fun, it is extremely upsetting to have people keep winding me up with the same complete crap over and over again. I know you are trying to wind me up, and successfully doing so I might add, but it gets to me that every single year of this I try to create a bit of light entertainment and it gets chucked back in my face. I know that I'm not going to please everyone with some decisions, like dropping James, but I am only trying to make a fairer and smoother running competition for all. To be honest, always getting taunted about this being a supposed fix and only having people saying that they aren't going to join and going so far as to say they'll create Facebook groups on the matter to undermine every attempt I make to keep this whole competition running without problems, really just makes me think, well sod it, why should I bother and that I should just forget doing it at all... I know it doesn't seem like much to you guys, but it actually takes quite a long long time to try and set out all the rules so that there aren't any gaps where things can go wrong, and also so that people aren't confused and have to ask millions of questions throughout the competition. It takes even more time throughout the competition chasing up songs and making sure that everything runs to schedule as I set out in the original post... And again, with so many people berating me and the competition, it makes me so frustrated and upset that I just don't feel like actually doing it any more. Thank you to those who have come out in support of this competition and me, but you guys are a massive minority and sadly, the negatives outweigh the positives so far...
FilboFox Posted 25 September 2009 Author Posted 25 September 2009 Pull yourself together man. Thought you'd come out with something so completely devoid of any sympathy. But that really just only backs my points made.
Fox You Forest Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Are you being serious? sympathy? for what exactly.
lildave3 Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009  'Pull your skirt back down...grow a set man.'
Fox You Forest Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 'Pull your skirt back down...grow a set man.' I fancy my chances of going all the way this year.
FilboFox Posted 25 September 2009 Author Posted 25 September 2009 Sorry, sympathy was the wrong word to use there... it should have been understanding. Devoid of understanding for how much effort it takes to run this whole competition and how utterly frustrating it is to have some constantly having a go left right and centre.

Brilliant work. ==== It's only due to posts like that and the kind words of support that are getting me through this difficult time.
Uncle Albert Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Still not sure how I didnt make it last year.
Uncle Albert Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Why arent I a judge? The apparent clique will never get a look in. You have to be a 15 year old with no music sense what so ever.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Brilliant work. ==== It's only due to posts like that and the kind words of support that are getting me through this difficult time. Your avatar made me I think in the interest of fairness and equality the clique should have at least one representative on the judging panel.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Im the perfect candidate. Do it Filbo. This sort of shake up can only do the competition good. I know I'll enter.
Alexikokopops Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 I hope you, Alex, friend, are the first of many to boycott this farce in honour of my forced ommission from proceedings. We've had our differences, a lot of " " smilies have been thrown, but I think I can put that behind me to help present a united front in the face of adversity. JAMES JAMES JAMES

Maybe you can use your powers as Forum Leader to make things right. You've always been such a good, strong leader in this part of the site.
Jay Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 James would never have allowed such a shocking event as a Coldplay round let alone a Coldplay round where you have to select TWO Coldplay songs!!

Too right Jay. I gave this competition credibility. Simon would never have been treated like this.
