Leicesterboi Posted 10 May 2005 Posted 10 May 2005 I personally dont believe tiatto is the right man to be Leicesters leader next term. i feel that somebody who appears more vocal, for example watching the pre season last season and a few training sessions, i believe Dublin is the man for then job. However that depends on how much he will be featuring. who do you feel should be captain?

And if he thinks that Tiatto should be captain, then that's who I think should be the captain.
filbertway Posted 10 May 2005 Posted 10 May 2005 If i had the choice i think i would pick mcarthy. He's a good strong leader who i think would kick the team up the arse if theyre not playing well ( possibly not literaly). Thats my opinion anyway
Mark Posted 10 May 2005 Posted 10 May 2005 Craig didn't sound too bothered about the captaincy on the radio last night. He is hoping to have 7-8 players out there who are winners, that don't need picking up by one person. So that when that player is out injured, Dublin, or Tiatto (if that's the case then it's sure to be very often) we won't be worrying about needing a player to pick the rest of the team up, or something along them lines.
Leicesterboi Posted 10 May 2005 Author Posted 10 May 2005 As the saying goes "we need 11 captains out there"
step Posted 10 May 2005 Posted 10 May 2005 Tiatto always lead by example and when he was captain the whole team worked harder.
EmLeee Posted 10 May 2005 Posted 10 May 2005 How about De Vries as captain? 106414 sure great idea HaHa nah McCarthy would be good...young...over enthusiastic (sp?) just what we need ...
Leicesterboi Posted 10 May 2005 Author Posted 10 May 2005 mcarthys not a bad shout maybe another season needed 2 learn what its all about as he is inexperienced in 1st team football.
Scow Posted 10 May 2005 Posted 10 May 2005 It has to be Dublin - He is the only leader we have at the moment. Tiatto is far too rash.
The Man With The Golden Grahams Posted 10 May 2005 Posted 10 May 2005 Not sure about Dublin. He has all the qualities of a captain but Levein has already hinted that he doesn't expect Dublin to be involved in a full season due to his age. That's fair enough. We used to wheel Deano out from the treatment room for some matches and he often did the business. However, I think we need a captain who can be ever-present, or there-abouts. I agree with Leicesterboi - give McCarthy another season or two first. Groom him for the captain's armband once Tiatto leaves. And also get him to lose the pink t-shirt! I hope that's not the new away shirt he's modelling...
dan_84 Posted 11 May 2005 Posted 11 May 2005 Dublin doesnt need an armband to lead the team, he does it naturally. Iv been very impressed with McCarthey, but maybe still a little young, Tiatto had led by exapmle but is never in the team long enough through either injury or suspension. I say Alan Maybury, for Captain!
Knighton Matt Posted 11 May 2005 Posted 11 May 2005 think paddy would have to watch his tackling if he were captain sometimes rash in the extreme and there's no point having an appointed leader on the field if he's always missing through suspension.

I've noticed that in many of the recent games hes played in, and hes picked up a lot of bookings now, but give him one or two seasons and I think he'll be a good candidate. I'll wait to see until we have brought our summer signings in before I make a call on who I think captain should be.
Ric Flair Posted 11 May 2005 Posted 11 May 2005 Maybury for me, the man's a born winner. Plus I can see him being her for 4 or 5 years atleast where as Dublin and Tiatto might be gone at the end of next season. We are entering a revolution and we want continuity and Maybury is here for the long haul, give it the rock hard bastard. Dawson is captain material, like that's ever gonna happen!!!
Kingy Posted 11 May 2005 Posted 11 May 2005 Teddy Sherringham scored 20 goals this year and he is almost 40 ! Dublin for Captain and Dublin to lead the line all season !
Scow Posted 11 May 2005 Posted 11 May 2005 Teddy Sherringham scored 20 goals this year and he is almost 40 !Dublin for Captain and Dublin to lead the line all season ! 106752 I can't see him playing 46 games, can you?

EmLeee Posted 11 May 2005 Posted 11 May 2005 And also get him to lose the pink t-shirt! I hope that's not the new away shirt he's modelling... 106552 the pink shirt rules
jordo11 Posted 15 May 2005 Posted 15 May 2005 dublin its gonna be his last season and he is a leader and a legend so come on dion you can do it for us!!!!!!!!!!
Sam Posted 15 May 2005 Posted 15 May 2005 I'm going to say Gareth Williams as he was captain a few times at Forest and is also a young player with a lot of ability. The only thing holding him back is his inconsistency if he does perform as well as he can more often then I believe that he's got the potential.
Sparky Posted 15 May 2005 Posted 15 May 2005 dion if he is going to be picked regular if not then maybury would be my choice
Muz Posted 15 May 2005 Posted 15 May 2005 Dion but when he is not playing Williams , he captained the Forest time a few times last year.
Anish Posted 15 May 2005 Posted 15 May 2005 I completely disagree about Williams being captain, he is an invisible man half the time (despite his talents) and doesn't inspire anyone else around him. Just because he captained Forest a couple of times it doesn't mean he is good captain material. Dion for me - whenever he plays - otherwise Maybury.
