AjcW Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 He looks like a cross between Mattock and Berner! Id happily take Brujoe Matner in our squad.
Edmund Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 Furthermore we have a small collection of our old boys now playing for Kings Lynn and if he's impressed them week on week then I'm sure they'll have filtered word back. Heggs did offload two of his fringe players yesterday with Jay Smedley and Ryan Beswick released. Beswick is poised to return to Kettering after spending two months at The Walks on non-contract terms. The former Leicester City trainee failed to score in 14 appearances and had fallen down the pecking order with the arrival of wide player Ben Muirhead. Defender Smedley played four games after joining from Hucknall. Also taken from the same article. Seems Beswick failed to impress. Heggs' next priority is to tie down young Football League loanees Lathanial Rowe-Turner and Kwesi Appiah. The duo's initial one month deals expire over the next fortnight."Lathanial is the one I want," said Heggs. "Leicester have already told him he is free to move on and they won't be offering him another deal. But he obviously can't join a club until the January window. He can go out on loan somewhere else up to Conference North level but why would he want to join a club one level higher where he doesn't know the manager. Ideally, I want him here until January. Looks like Rowe-Turner is heading there this January.
Salieri Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 There's plenty of gems lurking in non league football i'm sure. There would hardly be a large transfer fee involved so not exactly much of a gamble. A young player with plenty of hunger and a point to prove, gotta be worth a punt.
lou Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 Also taken from the same article. Seems Beswick failed to impress.Looks like Rowe-Turner is heading there this January. Im surprised Lath didnt make it... always rated him a few seasons back. Shows what I know
Edmund Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 Im surprised Lath didnt make it... always rated him a few seasons back. Shows what I know Never seen him play to be honest but I'm sure he was one of Thracians one to lookout for in the future
lou Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 Never seen him play to be honest but I'm sure he was one of Thracians one to lookout for in the future he did look quality to be fair. Sometimes it just doesnt work out EDIT I used to rave about Tommy Tejan-Sie a few years back then we released him and last I heard he couldnt get a game at Dagenham and Redbridge
Guppy Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 Im surprised Lath didnt make it... always rated him a few seasons back. Shows what I know I've only seen him a couple of times, first was at Hinckley pre-season a couple of years ago when he played with N'Gotty and Magunda, and he was terrible. I thought he had improved no end when I went to watch Leicester V Shff Utd reserves a few weeks back though.
CosbehFox Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 So he was not good enough for Doncaster and that makes him a better prospect than the 2 mentioned how? Differing opinions? One manager doesn't rate, a scout for us does. Increasingly due to teams wanting immediate success and stuff their academies full of foreigners, good British kids are being found at all tiers of non-league and making a good career. Probably the lad who made the biggest jump is Luke Varney and probably at the same time Crewe had a lads of a similar age in their youth set-up.... Looks like Rowe-Turner is heading there this January. Be lucky to succeed there, got absolutely 'raped' by Hinckley a couple of seasons ago.

He had a shocker at Hinckley but the 2 seasons before that he was a shining light for the academy. Doesnt always follow though sadly
The Doctor Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 To be fair to Mad Dog he is probably right. Morrison was one of the stand out players in the division below Football League level. I believe Kings Lynn are in fact another 2 divisions down. Not saying he can not make i sometime but that must be far too high step up straight away surely? We also have Parkes & Bolger coming through the youth ranks. Would this guy really be any better than these 2? 1 division (cambridge were in Blue square prem, Kings lynn in blue square south/north) but then morrison did only step up two divisions and got a full season under his belt before starting any championship games, this guy would be thrown in halfway through the season while making a step up 4 divisions, too much to make IMO. still could be one for the future.
Salieri Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 If we did sign him i would be very surprised if he wasn't loaned out to maybe a League 2 club pretty much straight away. To be thrown straight in at Championship level would be a big ask.
CosbehFox Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 Kings lynn in blue square south/north) . K.Lynn are Unibond now.
The Doctor Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 K.Lynn are Unibond now. got relegated then? not that i care seeing as how i'm not entirely sure where kings lynn is.
CosbehFox Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 got relegated then? not that i care seeing as how i'm not entirely sure where kings lynn is. Well not relegated. They got put down due to the ground not being good enough.
The Doctor Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 Well not relegated. They got put down due to the ground not being good enough. what an evil vet.
Ashley Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 Ashley may know a bit about this as his uncle is Kings Lynns manager I'll see what I can find out
