davieG Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 People will have different views as to what is 'anti-social behaviour'. I'm all for reporting violence and racism but I suspect they'll get mostly messages about swearing and standing. From OS As a part of the recently launched Fanzone initiative today's match against Derby County will also mark the launch of a new SMS service geared towards improving supporters enjoyment of the match, by reporting instances of anti-social behaviour anonomously through a personalised, dedicated SMS short code service. By simply texting 60066 using the keyword 'Foxes' supporters will now be able to discreetly report any issues to our staff, ensuring the safety and continued enjoyment of the match for those seated in and around the problem areas. Users of the service will receive a simple message to confirm their text has been received and all the issues raised will be monitored and dealt with accordingly. The cost to supporters to use this service is just their standard network charges, usually 10-12p (some networks may vary). Help us to improve the atmosphere within the Walkers Stadium by texting 60066 by using the keyword 'Foxes'.

Daggers Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 60066: foxes The man sitting in front of me is ruining my enjoyment of this turgid match - he keeps checking his iPhone for the latest updates from the Liverpool match rather than watching what is going on. Please make him stop before he is forced to try out the iPhone suppository app.

I'm all for reporting violence and racism but I suspect they'll get mostly messages about swearing and standing. From OS Like the Trades unions I wonder if City are contributing to the Labour Party these days. Because this idea of spying on your neighbours and snitching on people is absolutely typical of the ruling "Big Brother Watching You" mentality. City even used Tony Blair gobspeak by calling it an "initiative". I just hope they're not going to follow Labour in taking a million initiatives and seeing so many of them fail or even prove unworkable. Some of the fans we get in the ground now will report people for breathing heavily, never mind singing without sounding their aitches. And what's to stop them if they can remain anonymous?
Father Ted Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 The moaning prawn sandwich brigade are too old and don't know how to use mobile phones so this has got to be totally pointless.

IF I COULD HAVE GOT AN INTERNET SIGNAL!!!
Thracian Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 The moaning prawn sandwich brigade are too old and don't know how to use mobile phones so this has got to be totally pointless. I was surrounded by the damn things today. And people sticking little pins in em presumably to show they'd got a good un.

purpleronnie Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 So turning a blind eye to anti-social behaviour is the future? I think its a combination of things...this is just another one, perfect for power hungry people who get their kicks by enforcing rules.
lou Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 or maybe its a good thing for someone who feels imtimidated but wants to report racism etc without fear of getting their heads kicked in?
Shrenchel Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 What a horrific idea. I can just see the snively cretins who give the evils about swearing but never have the minerals to actually say anything to you lapping this up. Heard about a few sets of fans who have brought a halt to similar big brother grass up your fellow fan text initiatieves by constatntly texting nonsense to them. Could be an idea.
Guest Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 I think its a combination of things...this is just another one, perfect for power hungry people who get their kicks by enforcing rules. I can see both sides, but have to jump in when I see things argued as 'black and white'. Sorry
Thracian Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 So turning a blind eye to anti-social behaviour is the future? Labour's had years of doing it or of making excuses for it so why the sudden concern? Besides one woman's anti-social behaviour is another man's attempt to create some atmosphere. But as always one voice of protest will doubtless drown out 1000 voices singing. It's the way it works these days.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 Might ring the number. "WHY THE FOOK HAVE U SOLD OUT OF CHEESEBURGERS! ITS NOT EVEN HALF TIME YET!"
Daggers Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 do you sit behind me?BECAUSE I HAVE AN IPHONE Do you have a fascination with Liverpool? Do you need an update on the ManU score? Is this you?
Thracian Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 I can see both sides, but have to jump in when I see things argued as 'black and white'. Sorry You might see both sides but if you ever become a judge, you'll have to finally get off your fence and make some genuinely wise decisions. I'd sure love to be in that courtroom as an observer. Surprising too that you seem to accept the idea of someone "anonymously" making allegations about people. Should make for some wonderful court cases in the future if you can make that idea catch on and call it justice.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 17 October 2009 Posted 17 October 2009 I can't imagine they'll be dragging anyone out of the ground kicking and screaming because someone sent a text message about them. Isn't it for drawing the staff's attention to people who are being a bit of a willy puller? I could text that the bloke that sits infront of me has just carried out a human sacrifice but unless they see any actual evidence of it, I doubt they'll take any action. 60066: HELP HELP THERE'S A BEAR LOOSE IN THE CONCOURSE. IT'S NOT LIKE GENTLE BEN, IT'S GOING F***** MENTAL. IT'S EATING MY LEG. IS IT STILL NIL NIL?

Thracian Posted 18 October 2009 Posted 18 October 2009 what a disabled you are.i hope more people are reported for racism and racist comments. and people are not longer scared to report them And I hope more people are reported for not signing and cheering on their team but I doubt it will help in that direction. I can't actually remember the last racist comment I heard at The Walkers - if I've heard any at all - but sure as hell there's plenty like you who love to use the game as a political tool and for political ends. Anyway, I'll leave you to your bugging devices, your hidden cameras and your George Orwell books.

I've heard many a "N*gger" shouted just in the past 4 seasons or so. Maybe I'm more sensitive to it or something but it certainly goes on.

Ah well. If Labour win the next election I'm quite sure they'll press for unaccompanied white blokes to be banned anyway (due to health and safety concerns) and the whole place will become a dry haven for women, families, ethnic minorities and abstentious corporate guests. They'll doubless install creches alongside the quiet areas of worship and the only permitted songs will be nursery rhymes. In a sop to tradition Lee Jobber might still be allowed in so long as he plays the zylophone.
