Climate protest enters second day

Recommended Posts

Well climate changes have not been recorded in any great detail until the last couple of years.

Finally some light!! This is exactly why we should seriously question climate science. The recent measurements (last 100 years) are unreliable, and the older measurements are based on ice cores, which have a significant margin of error.

TBH they should protest the Volcanoes, as these give off many more times the amount of CO2 than the whole of Humanity combined!

:protest: Down with nature!!

The estimated cost of the police operation is put at about £500,000
Ratcliffe-on-Soar was chosen as a target in an online vote following a Climate Camp held in London in August.

So they used some of the power stations electricity and at a cost of around 500k surely that money would have been better spent elsewhere.

Global disaster now a bit nearer due to all these protesters Twittering eachother :D

Im still waiting for these Heatwaves they keep talking about

Come on lou, that is not the attitude. Heatwaves may kill us all. After all we are not capable of change, and therefore will not learn to drink more water and stay in the shade. We are stupid and we need the Government to save us.

I'm all for protesting against things that are wrong and could be made better, but the way most protestors do things nowadays seems to always do more harm than good to the cause. These people say they want to get access to the power station and cause damage so it gets shut down for a while. Well if they did that and half of the east midlands lost power for who knows how long then everyone would be against them straight away. How that would help the cause I don't know.

It would just make more people against protestors and give the powers that be a green light to make it harder for any protests to get started in the first place or use tougher measures against people when a protest does happen. The government is crying out for reasons to ban protests and these guys are giving them more ammo to get new laws in place to clamp down.
