SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 The 8 of us that are going to the world cup are all meet for a little World cup party. I'm praying for England and then 2 easy teams for us (South Africa would be nice). If we get England in Durban that would be even better as were staying 1km from the ground. Can't bloody wait.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 Hopefully Serbia get Bosnia and/or Slovenia (if they get through)Would be nice to play England aswell. Maximum of 2 european teams in a group
Tommeh Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 I honeslty cannot wait for this years WC and even the draw, ok we'll still probably loose on pens in the quarters. But it'll be a great month.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 Prelimanary Match schedule I'm acctually excited to find out where we are playing our matches as we got tickets to all Aussie games there will be a convoy of 20 busses or 4 charted planes leaving from Durban full of aussie supporters to where ever and i can't wait for the buzz and excitment of going to Cape town or Port Elizabeth with 1500 mad fans.
AmericanScott Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 Australia or USA would be quite nice. And instead of Sweden we'll get Denmark who are just as annoying as their cousins. Please no, never. If England play USA at the WC, i'll be fooked!
Guest Bilo Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 North Korea's presence could make things interesting. North Korea v South Korea or North Korea v USA would be classic! I just want to play them because they're likely to be awful with a FIFA ranking of 91.
Father Ted Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 You dont wan't your Orthodox Brothers through though ? I hope Greece and Russia make it. Eastern European football is on the up and the likes of France are struggling.
Bert Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 Not fussed who we get , if you gonna win the cup then you gotta beat the best sides. I love cliches Me too:
Guest ttfn Posted 6 November 2009 Posted 6 November 2009 I have tickets for the tournament but don't know who I'm seeing until the draw is made. Can't wait to see who teams C2 and C3 are! (Amongst others...)
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 It's getting bloody close can't wait Australia, England, Honduras, Slovenia i'm hoping for all winnable games
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 New Zealand please I want them because it means an easy win, but it seems a waste of a match to play them.

Ford Super Sunday Posted 23 November 2009 Author Posted 23 November 2009 2 and a half weeks! Also 2 and a half weeks til my essay is due in <_< Mine is due in on Friday (2k), and then another one due in on the 14th of Dec ~(1.5k) So, these draws are a form of escapism for me (ok that's severe hyperbole) 11 FOOKING DAYS

But it needs to be started still . In terms of the way the draw is done, can any team draw any other?? Like could there be a killer group i.e. England Brazil France Italy for example, or does there have to be different teams from different continents?

Like could there be a killer group i.e. England Brazil France Italy for example, or does there have to be different teams from different continents? No, unfortunately there will be four pots of eight, and they will draw each other. I think there will be no more than two european teams in a group (I think there are 13 euro teams at WC 2010, correct me if wrong) and the same goes, they dont want a group which is 3/4 from one section. It'll be a little bit similar to the Champions League draw, and not being able to play a team in your country, but not more than two in a region in a group. This is why the draw is prolonged and can take so long, in addition to the bullshit music, presentations, waffle and crap they spout beforehand

Couldn't give a feck about that
ozleicester Posted 26 November 2009 Posted 26 November 2009 Thank god we cant get Sweden in our group!Would like to get Australia in it though. Really dont want to see a England Vs Oz game. The Ozzies love to beat England and would throw everything at us.. and my god.. you cannot imagine the pain that losing to the Ozzies would cause me.

leicesterfox86 Posted 26 November 2009 Posted 26 November 2009 I'll wake you up when the penalty shoot out is just about to begin in the quarter final. Against Portugal or Germany?

Guest Bilo Posted 26 November 2009 Posted 26 November 2009 Be nice to get a soft draw and avoid the typical Group of Death. We were screwed in 2002 from the minute the draw was made. Going through as group winners is crucial to getting a decent run in the knock-out stages. No disrespect to these teams but any one of North Korea, New Zealand or Honduras would be a decent addition to the group from our point of view.
