Steven Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 Not sure that it is really worth a new thread but I would like to wish Frank a Happy 61st birthday. On This Day In History: November 23 1948Frank Worthington, flamboyant much-travelled forward, is born in Halifax.

blueoveru Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 People on bentleys say Franks not very well....one says he's in the early stages of alzheimers.................hope not bloody good player....... who does not desrve that
haraven Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 It's bloody well worth a thread, one of the funniest football biographies online, Frank Worthington was a LCFC legend, one that really spiked the drink, and the game! Happy birthday, Frank!
Radovan's Caravan Posted 24 November 2009 Posted 24 November 2009 I remember him and I saw him play in Belgrade many years ago: 5.6.1974 Location Belgrade Competition Friendly Fixture Yugoslavia V England Result 2-2 Yugoslavia Scorers Petkovic, Oblak England Scorers Channon, Keegan Team Clemence R N (Liverpool), Hughes E W (Liverpool) - Captain, Lindsay A (Liverpool), Todd C (Derby County), Watson D V (Sunderland), Dobson D V (Burnley), Keegan J K (Liverpool), Channon M R (Southampton), Worthington F S (Leicester City), Bell C (Manchester City), Brooking T D (West Ham United), Sub: M I MacDonald for Worthington. Technically your best player on the day by a street but a little slow and rather casual. This was a very controversial encounter as Tito's goons beat up Kevin Keegan on his arrival at the airport and broke his nose. There was a lot of nonsense here in the press about the England team's bourgeois incivility and how KK should have been locked up. Looking back now I wouldn't be surprised if your chief of station in Belgrade wired his opposite number about the golden opportunity for a diplomatic incident...
Zingari Posted 24 November 2009 Posted 24 November 2009 People on bentleys say Franks not very well....one says he's in the early stages of alzheimers.................hope not bloody good player....... who does not desrve that that'll explain it , he walked straight passed me the other day and i'm sure he didn't recognise me
Vacamion Posted 24 November 2009 Posted 24 November 2009 Sexually incontinent, alcohol-addled footballing genius legend of a hero with an Elvis fixation. But enough about me. Happy birthday Mr W.
yorksfox Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 Sexually incontinent, alcohol-addled footballing genius legend of a hero with an Elvis fixation. But enough about me. Happy birthday Mr W. Often see Frank around Huddersfield where I live. Looks in good health, still the long hair and baseball cap! Always passing on footballing advice to young players, including my son. A very sociable guy and great fellah!

Pegosteve Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 Probably the most gifted player I ever saw. An absolute legend the likes of which will never be seen again in modern day football ( how many have a sh*g at half time!!!) Have a great birthday and thanks for all the memories.
