purpleronnie Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Group G: Brazil, Korea DPR, Côte d'Ivoire, Portugal
Jimothy Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 D They would all have chance of progressing in any other group. Whereas in G, North Korea are the whipping boy, theres no whipping boys in D.
lavrentis Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 G by a mile. G & D by a country mile I raise you kilometre.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 December 2009 Author Posted 4 December 2009 I could of put my life savings on the fact we would draw the group of "death"
The Doctor Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 I raise you kilometre. I match that kilometre and raise a furlong
Guest Bilo Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Group D is probably hardest with Germany, Serbia and Ghana all with decent chances of winning the group and Australia with a reasonable shout at going through. Group G will be interesting too, though I feel Portugal are as overrated as Cote d'Ivoire are underrated. Brazil and Cote d'Ivoire through with North Korea probably conceding more than 10 and going home pointless. England's group is probably the easiest though, no excuses if we don't stroll it in my opinion.

Guest Bilo Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 I'd swap places with Spain or Italy. Hmmm, Switzerland will be tough to break down and you can never underestimate the South American sides. Chile and Paraguay may not be huge names but they won't be easy wins for either side. Slovakia don't appear to be mugs either. The only team I can see us having difficulties against is the USA after their performances at the Confederaions Cup, Algeria and Slovenia won't be easy matches (you have to respect teams who have come through decent qualifying groups) but we really shouldn't sweat about playing any of the teams in that group.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 4 December 2009 Author Posted 4 December 2009 Easily D. Yep hope we both go through
Guest Bilo Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Yep hope we both go through Wouldn't be a massive surprise as Germany don't look anything special in my opinion. That said, they looked truly awful in 2001 when England were mauling them 5-1 and made the final a year later. They did however, have a ridiculously easy group in that tournament so this is a completely different kettle of fish.
sdb Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Definately G then D for me. Not good for us as we'll get a group D team in the last 16...right?
