Walshy5 Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Ive recently noticed that this game is on a sunday. Does anyone know whether or not its on tv?
Fox92 Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 No its not, I don't think so. And I don't understand why we are playing on that Sunday because I am sure that all of the other teams are playing on the Saturday.
davieG Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 I doubt it with a 3 o'clock KO - it's not on Sky http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12942,00.html
Ford Super Sunday Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Moved because it clashed with the Tigers home fixture on the Saturday, assuming that people didn't already know...

Fox92 Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Maybe a Tigers fixture clash? http://www.leicestertigers.com/rugby/fixtures.php Yes, and its on Sky.
davieG Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 It's at 5.30, crazy that they can't cope with that - Oh well I suppose the police will get 2 days worth of overtime in.

It's not even like Ipswich is even a troublesome match either, I understand that about 40,000 people in the same part of the city can be a handful... but come on! Let's just thank feck they didn't decide to change our Boxing Day fixture

Ford Super Sunday Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Yet they, the council that is have aspirations to see the Walkers extended to 45000! Well no-one said the top tier of the WS would actually be used other than in the World Cup (Simply because it wouldn't!) And for World Cup group game (note the singular) it'd be so much different in terms of parking and all that shizzle
davieG Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Well no-one said the top tier of the WS would actually be used other than in the World Cup (Simply because it wouldn't!)And for World Cup group game (note the singular) it'd be so much different in terms of parking and all that shizzle You mean more people from out of town which would make the traffic and parking worse surely?
Ford Super Sunday Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 You mean more people from out of town which would make the traffic and parking worse surely? No You see the council expect us to be hosting Saudi Arabia Vs. Egypt. And that means they'll all be flying in on magic carpets and coming via donkey and cart. No parking needed there! The council have thought this through, trust them, just once
Matt Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 We'll move to suit the Tigers again then I know we have had this discussion numerous times, but it really doesn't seem like the Tigers ever move to accomodate us - I don't take much notice of when Tigers are playing or if their games get moved but if they moved their game more than we move ours i'd be very surprised.
samjohnson Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Im going to that Tigers match o.O Could really do with the football being on the saturday though...

They can't move our boxing day fixture because we have to play again on the 28th and the league rules say there needs to be 48 hours between matches (something like that) so we'd have to move to the week in the run up to christmas. The tigers match has been moved to the 27th instead.

There are two clashes so far this season. We have moved one to Sunday, and they have moved their Boxing Day fixture. Pretty fair, if you ask me.

It seems now a necessary evil, so better with notice and not an unworkable kick-off (good it's on at the weekend).
TrickyTrev Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 I really don't see why the city's resources can't deal with 40,000 people. It's not like the Ipswich game is going to take much policing.

john_lcfc Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Im going to that Tigers match o.O Why? and LargeAl that was because the game was shown on Sky otherwise football would have taken priority as it should be.
davieG Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Why?and LargeAl that was because the game was shown on Sky otherwise football would have taken priority as it should be. It was for sky but football doesn't take priority.

It's the hospital what's the issue. what about our game at reading being moved to the monday so they could play london irish on the saturday. Not our problem, that's to be sorted by Reading and Irish. I am pretty sure Reading would have first dibs cos it's their stadium but SKY chose them.

Guest Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 what about our game at reading being moved to the monday so they could play london irish on the saturday. First of all, as pointed out, we were moved for the TV, not for the rugby. Secondly, London Irish are tenants at the Madjeski, so primacy of tenure would mean that the football would take priority. Thirdly, as also pointed out, it's a problem between Reading and the Irish, not Leicester and the Tiggers.
