Kilworthfox Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 I went into the club shop after the Plymouth game and some woman with a clipboard came up to me and asked me if I preferred the new goal music. I said I hated all goal music. She said 'Oh' and walked off to ask someone else. Looked quite disappointed. Well done Gaz, Maybe she thought you were a quiet west stander?
leftsideoverhere Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 Have you exercised your originality and downloaded the X Factor Xmas single yet? http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/...e-christmas-no1
l444ry Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/...e-christmas-no1 No mate...this is the real one!!!
leftsideoverhere Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 Goal celebration music doesn't necessarily have to spoil your enjoyment of a goal (think about when Chelsea Dagger came on after Howard's goal against Leeds, for me that became a part of the memory). Did they play it then? That was the best goal of last season, partly because I couldn't hear bloody Chelsea Dagger for all the screaming going on around me. That is the memory for me. No mate...this is the real one!!! Youtube banned at work.
lildave3 Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 why do people on hear feel the need to moan about the club for playing a song when we score? is it really that much of a problem if they do or not? or what song they choose to play? your teams just scored and you still feel you have to moan about it. get a life You're a goon. With Chelsea Dagger it wasn't so much of a problem, to be fair (although obviously no music would be better). The particular problem with the Kasabian track is that it leaves you not knowing what to do. A goal is the greatest feeling for a football fan, so when that feeling is cut short by the realisation that you need to try and clap around in time to a relatively slow tune or dance up and down or something totally ruins the moment. Goal celebration music doesn't necessarily have to spoil your enjoyment of a goal (think about when Chelsea Dagger came on after Howard's goal against Leeds, for me that became a part of the memory). 'Fire' by Kasabian, unfortunately, does. You're a goon. To be honest, I couldn't give a damn what they play.In fact, I'd take no goal music. When we score, I do my own thing You're a goon.
ozleicester Posted 18 December 2009 Posted 18 December 2009 Thank god my only visit to the walkers finished in a 0-0 draw, i wasnt forced to listen to the goal music.
Dan Posted 18 December 2009 Posted 18 December 2009 What an absolute joke of a reply that is from the club. The absolute stubborness whenever they make a cock up is very dissapointing from a club like ours. I think Chelsea Dagger was tosh, but Fire is even worse regarding goal music, its not even celebratory in the slightest, it just puts you off any sort of celebrating. I like both songs in general, but not to be played after a goal at the football. Tom Hark is about the only one I don't hate, the rest are just tacky and bring the opinion of the club from the away fans down. None for me. While on the topic of music, I swear to god the club have to scrap that cringy, disney style, modernised Post Horn Gallop that we come out to in the second half, its terrible, absolutely embarrassing, even worse than Coventry's. Bring back something like the Great Escape, far better than that. Another suggestion of mine, I'd keep what we come out to, but instead of playing Hey Jude, I'd play Blue Moon, the slower version, a song thats fairly short, and is very suitable for a club that plays in blue - sorted.

You can still celebrate, you don't have to go along with the music, the fact it removes the noise created by the crowd is my problem with all goal music.
Dan Posted 18 December 2009 Posted 18 December 2009 Like Man City? Correct. I don't care if they class us as copying, they've got far more to worry about than Leicester City "stealing" one of their songs. Its very suitable for us. You can still celebrate, you don't have to go along with the music, the fact it removes the noise created by the crowd is my problem with all goal music. I know I don't, but often when the PA just blasts out Fire, you think what to do, the music is that loud and such a distraction, its rubbish. Keep it as nothing and just keep Jobber playing, I want crowd noise not music noise.
Guest Posted 18 December 2009 Posted 18 December 2009 Correct. I don't care if they class us as copying, they've got far more to worry about than Leicester City "stealing" one of their songs. Its very suitable for us. I don't care what they think either. My problem is that I don't want to 'nick' another team's anthem. We should find and use one of our own, such as WYS.
Guest Posted 18 December 2009 Posted 18 December 2009 I was more in favour for an NHL honky tonk piano to play little jigs when the ball goes out of play. Love this idea. It would be pretty much relentless though given how much time the ball spends out of play
