fordy_uk2005 Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 why do people on hear feel the need to moan about the club for playing a song when we score? is it really that much of a problem if they do or not? or what song they choose to play? your teams just scored and you still feel you have to moan about it. get a life
lavrentis Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 People are probably going to moan about this thread..... but when we score we're obviously happy, its just the music completely drowns out any potential chants created because of the goal and atmosphere needs improving at the Walkers.

Good on you though, I agree.
Shrenchel Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Mate when Fox92 is the only person that agrees with you, I think it's maybe time to fvck off.

lcfcadam Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 With Chelsea Dagger it wasn't so much of a problem, to be fair (although obviously no music would be better). The particular problem with the Kasabian track is that it leaves you not knowing what to do. A goal is the greatest feeling for a football fan, so when that feeling is cut short by the realisation that you need to try and clap around in time to a relatively slow tune or dance up and down or something totally ruins the moment. Goal celebration music doesn't necessarily have to spoil your enjoyment of a goal (think about when Chelsea Dagger came on after Howard's goal against Leeds, for me that became a part of the memory). 'Fire' by Kasabian, unfortunately, does.

Hmmm, which would I rather listen to, 20,000 people all cheering and going fucking mental, or a mainstream pop song that's readily available on iTunes, YouTube, radio 1 and countless CDs.. I wonder, I wonder.. Mate when Fox92 is the only person that agrees with you, I think it's maybe time to fvck off. . Yes, because it ruins the noise (proper noise from the crowd). Doesn't matter what song it is, they're all unnecessary.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 I couldn't give a shit about Goal music. I'm more intrested in the team scoring goals.
lcfcadam Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Get out. Of life. Forever. I think you misunderstand me. I would give LCFC my life savings to get rid of goal music entirely but unfortunately I don't think that's gonna work. Just saying that Fire is marginally worse than Chelsea Dagger, that's all.

Do you have some sort of inability to move your limbs in a way that's not exactly in time with whatever song is playing. If you walk into a shop and they're playing music, do you find it impossible to go about making your purchase and instead break out into dance?! If you look around at the Walkers, among the hoards of morons who have forgotten how to enjoy themselves without being instructed exactly how to do that, there's some people just ignoring the music and going fvcking mental. Try it.

Or did you just do it to sound that more Badman.

RedHux Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 If I never hear chelsea dagger again I'll die slightly less miserable then I otherwise would. It really, really pisses on my goal celebration bonfire

Try it. Standing at the top of Block K during Sheff Wed I can assure you that we all went mental for about 10 seconds after each goal, and then when the music kicked in all we could do was look over at the away fans and make a few hand gestures. Some clapped a bit, a few others exchanged hugs. No one in that area of the ground carries on with the "going mental" stage after the music has kicked in. If you could let me know whereabouts these people are that can ignore the music then I'd gladly move and join in...
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 I would have thought big salaries, would have been incentive enough.
SirBlueFoxington Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Try that now and they've quickly got 5 stewards and a linesman trying to protect them from the animalistic horde that's crowding them. Don't forget the yellow card. what a stupid rule.
Fox92 Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 To be honest, I couldn't give a damn what they play. In fact, I'd take no goal music. When we score, I do my own thing
Monk Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 I was more in favour for an NHL honky tonk piano to play little jigs when the ball goes out of play.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 What a load of shite that reply was! It annoys me when we play the goal music when the goal we score means nothing anyway!

I would give LCFC my life savings to get rid of goal music entirely but unfortunately I don't think that's gonna work.Just saying that Fire is marginally worse than Chelsea Dagger, that's all. . How can anthing that hasn't come from a reality tv show be worse than chelsea dagger? Fire overall is a better song than chelsea dagger and even though it's here to stay, at least sort of shows that the club supports a local band (so get rid of fire and stick in something by showaddywaddy )
potter3 Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 In fact, I'd take no goal music. Have you not read the rest of the thread or did you misinterpret nearly every single reply and think that that was some sort of extreme only a crazy person would come up with?
gazzer Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 I went into the club shop after the Plymouth game and some woman with a clipboard came up to me and asked me if I preferred the new goal music. I said I hated all goal music. She said 'Oh' and walked off to ask someone else. Looked quite disappointed.

When it comes to goal music, if we have to have it, you'd be mad to say Fire works better than Chelsea Dagger. It just sounds ridiculous in that context. Is there a smiley which suggests you're getting bored of people not getting your point?
