it would make more sense than pretendng you know what they are thinking

You seem to be easier to reach, as we were kind of having a chat about it anyway.

It just seems that a group pressing for some sort of control on suicide bombers (a quota perhaps) is going about it the wrong way by aligning themselves with a group of people who like nothing better then to kick shit out of each other.

It just doesn't present the best image for a political lobby group. Seems stupid, self destructive in fact.

Ok then, why do you think it is that the EDL attracts so many men from a football "hooligan" background? Do the two groups share political ideals do you think?

I'm genuinely curious.

Yeh, based on the former hooligans I do know, I'd say that theres a lot of similarity with some of the political views. Having said that, I know some of the Leicster lot who have very good friends from other religions. Also, take Birmingham for example. Theyre firms mainly black isn't it? I'm not just judging that on their name by the way!

Then you got the whole kind of belonging to a group or whatever reason as well.

I do get tired of hearing people slagg everyone who doesn't have a left wing opinion calling them thick and racist though. Thats just as pathetic.

Not being funny, but I can't remember whether or not I've said I agreed with the EDL or what they do etc.

No the EDL doing what they do today will not win them over any new fans. Its also not the best way to go about it regardless. I do honestly think though that SOME members are really actually quite worried about the safety of the country. And if theres anyone in this country who isn't worried then theyre in cloud cuckoo land. Likewise if theres anyone who condones demonstrating when the lads are marching through the cities etc then they deserve to be blown up in the next terrorist attack.

The problem is, this is the only realistic thing they can do now. The government have gone too far down the line to be able to turn back

Well to be fair, you may not have done.

Judging by your posts though, it seems to me that you decided to align with them to put your point across.

And i just don't agree with the last point. We're a democracy and if the EDL have a voice that deserves to be heard then they should put it across through the political system, not by undermining the laws of the country they claim to be fighting for, at the cost of the taxpayer too.

And personally, given the choice of living in a society that is too politically correct to voice opinions like this, or one in which thuggery and ignorance is encouraged in order to completely overkill a problem, with the downside that we all turn into a bunch of racist bullies, then i'd take the former any day of the week. The fact remains that alot of the stupidity in this country, regarding all of that, came from an prolonged period in charge for the Labour party and that has come to an end now, change may very well follow.

if you want to believe everything you read on the internet then fair plays. I can assume you nearly spunked up when you saw the pcture of the skin head a few months back doing the sieg heil. it turns out that this fella was a plant by UAF so you can see not everything is (no pun intended) black and white

Only one doing the Sieg Heil?

Bugger me, if these are all UAF plants they must be short on numbers.

I did decide to align myself with them. Only cos I get sick and tired of hearing everyone who hasnt a left wing view being called thick.

I suppose the nearest party to the EDL would be the BNP. But look what happened there when Griffin was allowed to go on Question Time. He was completely set up by the BBC, in that the whole audience was of mixed race, and left wing people. It was hardly a fair cross section of society I don't think.

I think people get called racist when they show themselves in that light. By making sweeping generalisations about a race of people usually.

Don't you find that all the fear mongering about Muslims wanting shariah law and strapping bombs to themselves left right and centre is nonsense though? Extreme Islam has not affected my life one iota. Has it yours?

I live in a mostly muslim area and even the middle of the road ones haven't affected me. In fact, there's a halal shop just up the round that's really handy for garlic when I've run out. Different cultures are good, as long as we aren't afraid of them.

You keep saying people who aren't left wing get called racists and thick? I don't really see it, more that the racist gets called a racist.

And the BNP are hardly any fooking better. Their non-racist bullshit is just as much a smokescreen, it doesn't take a genius too see the difference between what they want, and what they now say. The things you have said don't exactly point towards the BNP, more a mainline party with the sense to speak freely and counter threats where threats exist. Hunting down all Muslims isn't the way to do that (as we have already concluded), but i don't see how the BNP is the answer either...

You get good and bad people in all walks of life from all religions. Yes it has affected me slightly. Take the extra precautions and restrictions for flying as an example.

Good point! Once my lady friend had to taste baby formula before we flew to Cork. Also, I can no longer fly with toothpaste on my person.

So it has affected me. I sit corrected.

I wasn't saying that the BNP is the way forward. Just that BNP and EDL are very similar-as you agree. And that when you mentioned the EDL should put it through the political parties, I was just saying how unfair I think the BNP are treated. Theyre a legal party, (rightly or wrongly) so give them a FAIR hearing.

The Labour party started to come round to the immigration issue towards the end of their government, and thnkfully it became less of a taboo to talk about immigration.

I know its a minor affect, but it still is one. How the people of London have the balls to use the tubes everyday, especially in the aftermath of 7/7 is beyond me. To be honest, I'm in London on Tuesday for the football and unfortunatly it does make you wary of who you're sitting next to on the tubes.

Not really, I tend not to make a rash judgement of someone's ethnicity, nationality etc. when I don't even know them.

Ironic how you called me a deluded cnut then

And no, I try not to. The fact of the matter is though, I bet the people on the tubes that day thought exactly the same as you

Right, sorry, i misunderstood.

I partly agree, but at the same time i think if more people shared their views then they would find it easier to voice those views. I think democracy has done its job as far as that is concerned, but i take your point.

You're more likely to die on your way to London then on the tubes so I wouldn't really worry about it. In fact, you're probably as likely to win the lottery as get blown up by some jihadist loony.

Don't give in to the fear.....and buy a lottery ticket, just incase :)

I do think many more people actually have more right wing views than whats publicly known. In other words I think more do share their views. The problem is though, how those people then get treated because of what they say. As I said eariler, I have a COSG on my back with ENGLISH AND PROUD underneath it. Someone who saw it mistook that as a sign of me being a fully paid up member of the BNP.

I'm not worried that much. But it does make you think

I'd have thought UKIP would be pretty representative for people with such views that didn't want the stigma of being a BNP voter (not that they have to tell anyone mind), but they didn't seem to do very well?

Yeh, I take your point on that. UKIP nor the BNP did as well as expected.

The only thing I think when on the tubes is how forking confusing the route map they give you is. Pussyole

You can't be very bright then
