Waghorn could stay or not

I have to say, and I may end up being corrected by future actions, buy Martyn Waghorn has one of the best attitudes you could ever ask from a young player.

:chant: Totally agree with you.

I think we have a chance of keeping him, especially if we were to go up. Sunderland like spending dosh and would be unlikely to give Waggy a proper chance imo (as is so often the way with young players) in the first team. Would love him to stay, very promising player.

I'd love it if we could sign him permanently, but i'd be very surprised if Sunderland let him go.

Having said that, i didn't think we'd land Hobbs permanently, so what do i know!

BRUCE WOULDNT LET HIM GO.....MAYBE BETTER TO GET HIM ON ANOTHER YEAR LONG LOAN THAT WAY EVRYONE BENEFITS, I THINK THE KID REALLY LOVES SUNDERLAND TOO SO HE WILL BE DETERMINED TO GET INTO THE FIRST TEAM AT SUNDERLAND AT SOME POINT!

I THINK WE WOULD HAVE TO BID £1.5-£2MILL TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY

Jesus Christ, wait until the summer when Milan doesn't meet the fee or he goes to another club. We'll have 291 threads about how we should have signed him. (Fulop)

This is Waghorn playing for Sunderland against us (and Andy King in particular) in the 2007 FA Youth Premier League Final.

Who would have thought, nearly three years on, he would be playing such a huge role in our first team?

Back in pre-season, I think the vast majority of us were concerned about who we would have up front when the Championship kicked off. Fryatt was injured for most of the friendlies and we played Howard and N'Guessan together for most of those, which wouldn't have been too pretty in the league. Pearson has taken a bit of stick recently for not improving last season's team and signing some ineffective players but Waghorn is surely the loan signing of the season in our entire division? To deputise so brilliantly for Fryatt, for someone just out of his teens, is such a bonus for the club. The 24-hour recall clause worries me because, although he's better off here at the moment, a couple of injuries to Sunderland strikers and he is back off up there without question.

Probably my favourite player this season, shading it from Hobbs and Berner.

Would love to see him here permanently. Bundles of effort and he is as strong as an ox. Wes Morgan will knpw this from yesterday too. Confident enough to say he'll finish on 10 goals this season and that's with a 3 game suspension and a fair few sub appearances too.

He's said he'd like to come here and he's behind Bent, Jones, Campbell in the pecking order. I can't see him wanting to get back to reserve team football.

I can give you my 100% reassurance that Waghorn will not move to Leicester permanently.

Insider information indicates Steve Bruce will not allow Waghorn to stay at Leicester.

It's a downer i know! He's a brilliant player and could be great for us.

Thanks for nothing Steve.

I know! After we had the decency to take his son on loan too

Benjani now too - this is the main reason I think we have a slight chance to pick him up in the summer.

If the lad had a right peg he certainly wouldn't be with us at the moment, he'c class. Raw power and great technically with decent pace and an eye for goal. What else could you hope for? (a right foot)

He browsed my shop today. Shook his hand and said hello.

That's all i have to contribute.
