Craig Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 I was on the right and where i was it was pretty packed.
Tilley Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 I won't go this year, not a big enough match for me to pay out. Might go Derby though.
Maybes Posted 19 February 2010 Posted 19 February 2010 Not happy about this. 1000 terrace tickets is a farce. What are they playing at???
lou Posted 19 February 2010 Posted 19 February 2010 Last season's trip to the Posh was shambolic. 4000 fans crammed tightly into the crappiest away end ever (even though it is terracing) The performance and weather was atrocious, I hope it's a lot different this time. This... was the worst away trip of my life, Daughter got knocked down 3 steps on the over crowded terraces - I was terrified of us scoring! fecking awful day all round got home soaking wet, freezing and thoughily pissed off. Am driving this year and getting into the ground early so we can get nearer the front
C-man Posted 19 February 2010 Posted 19 February 2010 Not happy about this. 1000 terrace tickets is a farce. What are they playing at??? Apparently they've done it with every club this season. Releasing 1000 tickets a time.

Am driving this year and getting into the ground early so we can get nearer the front Thats the best thing to do, though if the weather is bad, the front is the worst place to be! I'm just hoping the team will turn up this year unlike last season when they just rolled over for Posh.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 26 February 2010 Posted 26 February 2010 Hope we do get all the tickets like last year I loved the packed terrace but i'm a 21 year old lad who will be shitfaced, can see why some would have been scared
leftsideoverhere Posted 28 February 2010 Posted 28 February 2010 Thats the best thing to do, though if the weather is bad, the front is the worst place to be! I'm just hoping the team will turn up this year unlike last season when they just rolled over for Posh. Was at the front last year, and the driving hail into our faces was not my favourite memory of league one. More generally, I think it showed that fans can't remember or just don't know what to do with a proper terrace. We weren't exactly early thanks to the knob who pulled the emergency cord on the train over, but with Greg in tow I headed for the front, and installed him directly behind the safety barrier. Although there were a few other kids at the front there seemed to be a lot of others around further back just milling around in the melee. As Lou said, if we'd scored it would have been mayhem. However, where we were it was fine, and there was plenty of space. Bottom line is not everyone can stand in the same square foot of space at the back of the left hand side of the terrace. Even if it's the cool place to stand.
lcfc_jme Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 I will hopefully be there this season, if they stop cocking about and release the entire terrace capacity, and all the floor-munchers and toilet-biters kindly stay the fuck at home.
samjohnson Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Apparently they've done it with every club this season. Releasing 1000 tickets a time. Theyll be releasing all 4000 in the end... Just wait a couple of days after the initial allocation has "sold out" Im definatley attempting to get onto the terrace for this game. Its not every game you get told to stand up rather than sit down
calum_lcfc Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 We will defo get all the 4,000 for this, hopefully we will get a good turn out as well who knows maybe even the day we seal a play off place!!!
Ozwin Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Tempted to go to this purely for the terracing. How cheap and easy is Peterborough to get to via train? I really don't want to use FoxTravel again, it's ****ing depressing.

There was a good atmosphere on the train last season from what I can gather. I could get the train there in 20 minutes from Grantham but I'm driving it this time I think.
Ozwin Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 And how far is the stadium from the train station? I take it you make your own way there rather than police escorting or whatnot?

Fosse Boy Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 And how far is the stadium from the train station? I take it you make your own way there rather than police escorting or whatnot? We got escorted from a pub near the station last year. Don't remember there being a police presence in the station itself though.
lcfcadam Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 And how far is the stadium from the train station? I take it you make your own way there rather than police escorting or whatnot? Pretty easy walk from the station to the ground - best way seemed to be to go into the town centre first. No sign of any police escort last season - this time planning to get there early and have some serious though beforehand...

And how far is the stadium from the train station? I take it you make your own way there rather than police escorting or whatnot? Not that far. About 15 mins walk, probably a bit longer. I know last year there was some sort of an escort (think there is a video of it on YouTube) but as I obviously didnt get the train I'm not sure if it was all the way from the station, but I'd presume it was as soon as the fans got off the train.
CosbehFox Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 I could get the train there in 20 minutes from Grantham but I'm driving it this time I think. Be warned...I was late cos the traffic and parking in Railworld's meant a hour wait in the car park post-match sat behind Carl Pentney's Focus.

Some idiot pulled the emergency cord on the 'football special', perhaps under the mistaken belief that the special stood for special needs. As a result we sat by a signal box and sang for about 20 minutes, which probably helped make the atmosphere better, but meant we missed out on beer. No police at the station, but once we'd started walking across busy roads without waiting for the cars to stop, the police managed to find us quite quickly. From what I remember they kept us out of the shopping centre which is the most direct route to the ground, and shepherded us to a very, very busy pub, but once we left there it was 'find your own way'. Maybe there was an escort for the folks who left the pub at ten to three, but as it's unreserved standing you might not want to leave it that late anyway...
Katy Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 And how far is the stadium from the train station? I take it you make your own way there rather than police escorting or whatnot? As has been said before really, although I recommend you walk through the Queensgate shopping centre which is next top to the station to avoid looking like a fan. Managed to avoid the police escort successfully last year. Be warned...I was late cos the traffic and parking in Railworld's meant a hour wait in the car park post-match sat behind Carl Pentney's Focus. Don't worry I'm in Peterborough all the time, I know the short cuts and the best places to park. It's only 20 minutes down the A1 from me.

Some bint bouncing her baby on the emergency stop button.

Ah yes, I recall you were late and in the rush, I was nearly knocked over by Daggers in his dash to the toilets
lou Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Im confused... I was on the same train that got delayed and still had plenty of time to get a few drinks in the City centre before the game - hardly a rush
