Lillehamring Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 ok, we did this last season, and for some of us it proves quite interesting. Anyway, this thread is the league table plus most mathematical points available. i know it's a bit early - but things are going to start changing rapidly over the next few weeks... TEAM:CURRENT POINTS:POTENTIAL MAX POINTS NC 33 69 - 108 WB 33 63 - 102 NF 34 61 - 97 SW 33 56 - 95 LE 33 54 - 93 CC 32 49 - 91 SU 33 48 - 87 BL 34 47 - 83 MI 34 47 - 83 co 34 46 - 82 BA 33 45 - 84 BC 33 42 - 81 PR 33 42 - 81 DO 33 41 - 80 WA 31 39 - 84 DE 33 39 - 78 IT 33 38 - 77 RE 32 38 - 80 SC 34 38 - 74 QP 32 37 - 79 CP 32 34 - 76 SW 33 34 - 73 PL 32 29 - 71 PE 33 24 - 63 so, yes we could still go down, but i can't see the bottom teams going 100% over the rest of the season...
shen Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 so, yes we could still go down, but i can't see the bottom teams going 100% over the rest of the season... Really? Why not? People seem to think we can get automatic promotion

Lillehamring Posted 9 March 2010 Author Posted 9 March 2010 IMO.... Thats stupid. what is? making this league? why? we did it last year and it was quite useful - seeing when we are mathematically clear of certain teams, when certain teams are no longer a threat - i said it was a bit earlier but it can change pretty quickly, and once it's started it's not so tough to update it. i don't mind doing it, some people appreciate it - if you don't, who cares, don't read it... minus 1.
Lillehamring Posted 9 March 2010 Author Posted 9 March 2010 I like how every team is in caps and then cov aren't. ha! didn't notice that - to be honest, i was just getting my capitals quota out of the way

Corky Posted 9 March 2010 Posted 9 March 2010 Palace and Wednesday haven't made up any ground on us, so we're still looking quite safe at the moment
StanSP Posted 9 March 2010 Posted 9 March 2010 And thanks to Wednesday's loss, it means that Newcastle cant' get relegated. I wonder when that stat will be effective for us
The Doctor Posted 12 March 2010 Posted 12 March 2010 And thanks to Wednesday's loss, it means that Newcastle cant' get relegated. I wonder when that stat will be effective for us they could if they lose every single game left and go into administration. Not likely to happen but there is the tinest chance that it does.

Number 6 Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 There are probably more places we can't finish as teams play each other. One teams win is another's loss. Still some close games around the play offs (that do not involve us): Doncaster vs Sheff Utd Blackpool vs Swansea Cardiff vs Swansea Blackpool vs Doncaster Forest vs Cardiff Blackpool vs Forest Sheff Utd vs Coventry Sheff Utd vs Swansea Swansea vs Doncaster

Lillehamring Posted 17 March 2010 Author Posted 17 March 2010 You're right but we'd need some kind of supercomputer (or someone with a lot of time on his hands) to figure all those out! absolutely, there are so many variables.... this is just about the absolutes, not the maybes btw - if anyone would care to check the maths, sometimes it's easy to miss something.

Number 6 Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Or you could try the footy predictor http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/predictor/default.stm I went through, giving teams closet to and below us the win and making every team above us lose. I put in all results as 2-0. This isn't necessarily the worst possible, but it's probably not far off.

lcfc_jme Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 70 points should be enough, though I don't think I'll feel safe in the playoffs until / unless we hit 75. 15 points from a possible 30.
MrSpaM Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Think we need 5 more wins to secure it, which looking at the fixtures left, puts us in a good position, and a better position than those around us.
