Guest ttfn Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Nolan won it, as I'm sure you well know. Leicester represented by Fryatt (33rd) and Wellens (36th). Jermaine Beckford absurdly 3rd. I really like FFT but this list is as bad as some of the seriously ill-informed ones you get on some random blogs. Anyway, discuss...
purpleronnie Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Beckford 3rd? I would definately have him high up, why do you think its absurd?
Mikey Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Beckford 3rd? I would definately have him high up, why do you think its absurd? He's never even played in the Championship...
purpleronnie Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 So whats the point then? You might aswell just have the top championship players.
Mikey Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 So whats the point then? You might aswell just have the top championship players. Yeah, maybe have him high up, say, top 20 possibly. But to have him 3rd really is absurd.
Guest ttfn Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 I could see top 20 being an acceptable position, but you just have to look at some of the people he finished above to realise how ridiculous it is. Chris Brunt, Charlie Adam, Darren Ambrose, Jerome Thomas, David Wheater... Some other absolutely bizarre entries: 18th Robbie Savage 23rd Leon Best Apparently Grant Holt, Wes Hoolahan, Beckford and Rickie Lambert are all better than anybody that the 4th best side in the Championship can produce. Dorrans deservedly hight up the list, should have won in my opinion.
dandannieldanok Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 18th Robbie Savage ! Any credibility this thing did have has been lost with that entry.
lildave3 Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Where in gods name are Bruno Berner and Andy King. These lists amaze me, King was on this last year in League One, but now he's still playing a key role for a team 4th in the league he's dropped off?
Corky Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 I agree, why isn't King there? One of the most consistent performers in League One last season, and is stepping up to the standard required this year.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Is there a link and did any goalkeepers make the list?
Joe. Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Laughed a lot when it came in the post yesterday and saw it. Savage being the 18th best player in the football league was a particular highlight. These lists are compiled in ridiculous fashion anyway, very few people know enough about the Championship let alone any lower than that to form a reasonable top 50. And in case anybody else missed it: Best of the rest: Elvis Hammond, 29, Cheltenham Sprightly winger has shown form that could earn him a move up the League. And Chris Sutton's top five was also a riveting reading experience: 1. Grant Holt Norwich City 2. Jermaine Beckford Leeds United 3. Corey Smith Norwich City 4. Chris Dagnall Rochdale 5. Chris O'Grady Rochdale
CosbehFox Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Seriously O'Grady is excellent at that level and he has a side built around him.....a cracking side too!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Seriously O'Grady is excellent at that level and he has a side built around him.....a cracking side too! I love Rochdale.
