Basically we've had player, young player & goal of the season so now it's time to pay tribute to the other stars (postive and negative) of this remarkable season.

Best Signing

Nominees

Martyn Waghorn - Came with minimal first team experience, has done brilliantly even in the absence of Fryatt and has shown the composure and finishing of a player 10 years his senior.

Chris Weale - 3rd choice at a mid table championship club and has stepped up to regular FTF brilliantly - 16 clean sheets in 45 games

Jack Hobbs - Easy to forget how young he is with some of the performances he's put in this season and at 400K a bargin.

Worst Signing

Nominees

Robbie Neilson - For a man who captained the only team that looked close to breaking the old firm duopoly in the SPL in recent years i'd expect much better than what he has provided this year

Ryan McGivern - Overall a disappointing season for the Man City youngster. His lack of first team experience ( 5 league 2 matches) does defend him a bit but he's looked lost far too often this season

Yann Kermorgant - Hasn't played much but still 1 goal in a season does disappoint paticuarly with the finishing demonstrated today.

Best Performance

Nominees

QPR Away - They were in terrific form up front and ditto us at the back. The age old game of tug of war between an immovable rock and unstoppable force was played and ended with the unstoppable force in tatters

Newcastle Home - To play with a 1 man defecit for 2/3rds of a match against the runaway leaders and not only match them but arguably outclass them requires great skill and togtherness - something we proved we had in bundles

S****horpe Home - 5 goals and with the chances we created could easily have been more.

Worst Performance

Nominees

Forest Away - Obvious

Coventry Home - Nominated for the second half - an appauling display that began a rot that looked like knocking us out of the play-offs at one point.

Bristol Home - Never at the races in that game.

What about all of the other awards which typify this season?

Best proper fan's dark coat

Most pathetic wearing of a club shirt

Weakest argument for DJ's impossible recall

Most exciting flare

Nicest flask

Favourite pub

Worst parking

Daftest justification for Neilsen

Wildest over-reaction to a defeat

Record time to be served a pie at half-time

Most pathetic demand for Pearson to be removed from the job

etc...

Best Signing

Chris Weale - Someone's loss is always someone else's gain. One high profile gaff, but that's majorly outweighed by his performances this season, very consistent in all departments.

Worst Signing

Robbie Neilson - Puts a lot of effort in and is generally solid but just isn't good enough. Maybe he was made to look worse than he was/is by our other defenders though.

Best Performance

QPR Away - Live on Sky, after having played away at Reading just four days earlier. To go 1-0 down and come back to win 2-1 against anyone is difficult, but even more when you're away, against a team that were the team to beat at the time. Not forgetting some of the stuff we played that night too.

Worst Performance

Forest Away - To lose 5-1 against anyone is bad, but to do so against your local rivals is worse. Not only did it set us back and for one reason or another, the worse thing is that it lives long in the memory. It badly rocked our usually solid and proud defence too. A pathetic ref didn't help, but that was no excuse.
