Messi Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 We have got to go for this from the first whistle on Wednesday night, whilst staying strong at the back. This is the team id go for: Weale Morrison Hobbs Bruce Berner Spearing King Wellens Vaughan Howard Waghorn If Vaughan isnt fit then put N'Guessan on!
flanimal Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Weale Morrison Bruce Hobbs BernerN'Guessan Wellens King GallagherHoward Waghorn 4-4-2 for me.
Narborough_fox Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Weale Hobbs N'guessan King Wellens Dyer Vaughan Howard Gallagher Waghorn Kermogant! Attacking enough?
Dylan Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Weale Morrison Hobbs Bruce BernerGallagher Wellens King SpearingHoward Waghorn Subs: Logan, Brown, Adams, Dyer, Nguessan, Fryatt, Vaughan. Bring Howard back in. Back to 4-4-2. Spearing and Wellens HAVE to start in midfield. Other 2 places are up for grabs. I would stick with King- although he was invisible today, he's score 10 goals this season- and goals are what we need- so is a threat. I would also start Gallagher- although poor today, has a decent delivery when he gets it right, and can score goals. Dyer would be great last 20-25 mins, running at tired legs. Alternatively, if we REALLY want to go for it: Weale Bruce Hobbs BernerGallagher Spearing Wellens King DyerHoward Waghorn Although, this is very risky, and could end all hopes after 10 mins, which is why i would rather stick with 4-4-2, and then resort to this later on in the game if needed.

Cardiff would tear us to bits with a formation like that, we looked vulnerable in a 4-5-1 nevermind a 4-3-3. We're only one goal down, we need to keep it tight at the back and try and steal a lead. This ^ kind of formation for the last 20 minutes if needs be but not before. I wouldn't change much from today, if anything, personnel and formation wise. Just need the players to buck their ideas up and increase their performance.
MikeyT Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Weale Morrison Hobbs Bruce Berner Spearing Wellens King Vaughan Howard Waghorn Subs: Logan, Fryatt, N'Guessan, Adams/Oakley, Brown, Dyer, Gallagher
milan_foxes Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Weale Bruce Hobbs Brown BernerGallagher Wellens Spearing N'GuessanHoward Waghorn Subs: Logan, Morrison, Adams, Dyer, King, Fryatt, Vaughan. I'd drop King after his performance today. Wellens & Spearing would be a really strong in the centre of the park and to wingers that have pace, skill and can cross a ball. I would bring Morrison into right-back but Bruce looked steady today so i'd move him to RB and put Wayne Brown back in.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 GK. Weale RB. Morrison CB. Bruce CB. Hobbs LB. Berner RM. Gallagher CM. Wellens CM. King LM. N'Guessan ST. Waghorn ST. Vaughan I would be confident of us getting a result if we play that team.

It's that sort of mentality that has cost us in the first leg. Fortune favours the brave.
Mee Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Got to start howard in my eyes. Route 1 down the middle onto howards head and into the path of Waghorn/Vaughan/Fryatt. Fryatt to come on 60th minute and link up with howard, like he did for us all last season
Guest ttfn Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Weale Solano Hobbs Bruce Berner Gallagher Wellens Spearing Fryatt/Vaughan Howard Waghorn
Sparky Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Weale Morrison Bruce Hobbs Berner NGuessan King Wellens Gallagher Howard Waghorn Harsh on Spearing but i think its gotta be 2 from the 3 central midfielders playing in a 4-4-2.
The Doctor Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Weale Hobbs N'guessan King Wellens Dyer Vaughan Howard Gallagher Waghorn Kermogant! Attacking enough? no. Move N'guessan up front and drop dyer for fryatt. Go for broke in a 1-2-7 formation like the old days of 3-0-7. GK: Weale CB: Morrison CB: Bruce CB: Hobbs LW: Dyer CM: Wellens CM: Spearing RW: N'Guessan ST: Waghorn ST: Kermorgant ST: Vaughan Subs Logan, Brown, Berner, King, Howard, Gallagher, Fryatt Edit: just thought - morrison, brown and vaughan might not be fit for wednesday if so then McGivern in for Morrison (can't think of any other CBs than tunch and he's still out), Howard in for Vaughan with Solano stepping up onto bench & Neilson on to bench for brown (same as reason for mcGivern coming in) 2nd Edit: Scrap neilson - just remebered powell
CupidStunt Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Weale Berner Morrison Hobbs Solano King Wellens Spearing N'Guessan Waghorn Howard oh, and i predict theres a sending off from either side, depending on how the game goes as its going to get ugly
Tilley Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Howard has to start, we need someone to bully their centre halves because they had a field day today.
Narborough_fox Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Now in all seriousness all we need to do is get target men up there! Weale Morrison/Solano Hobbs Bruce Berner N'Guessan King Wellens Gallagher Howard Vaughan/Waggy Easy to adapt to either 4-5-1 and 4-3-3
Webbo Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Did anybody else notice Berner holding his back towards the end of the game? Hope he's fit for Wednesday.
Ultra Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Did anybody else notice Berner holding his back towards the end of the game? Hope he's fit for Wednesday. If he isn't, we're stuffed. Burke will rip McGivern to shreds like he did in the cup game..
Mikey Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Weale Morrison Brown/Bruce Hobbs Berner Spearing Wellens King Gallagher Howard Waghorn
Joe. Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 No need for wholsale changes, but freshening things up top might help. Weale Solano --- Hobbs --- Bruce --- Berner Spearing --- Wellens --- King Gallagher --- Howard --- Waghorn I'd be tempted to keep it much tighter than that to begin with and test the water, but should we need a goal I think this is the formula for success. If we're going to play Howard I think that two alongside him could potentially work excellently for us. 4-4-2 would be the way to go from kick-off for me but I really can't decide who to go with. The wingers we have simply aren't good enough.

Shane Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 i think if push comes to shove then, something like this: weale morrison (if fit) hobbs bruce berner spearing king wellens vaughan gallagher waghorn could be quite risky formation though.. gallagher playing the slightly deeper role behind the front two! no hoof ball!
STUHILL Posted 10 May 2010 Posted 10 May 2010 Weale Morrison (if fit) Hobbs Brown Berner Spearing Wellens King N'guessen Howard Waghorn subs Logan Bruce Dyer Fryatt Vaughan Tactics - GO FOR IT!!
