dandannieldanok Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 Michael Chopra. If we've truly got the money to spend then why not test Cardiff out with a bid of around £3/4m. As much as I dislike the bloke, he's cracking at this level and would suit our style really really well.

Cardiff can keep him.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Hes a cheating **** end, don't care how good he is I wouldn't want to be associated with him. Cardiff can keep him. Yeah because a player who would give us a better chance of promotion would be a bad thing!!
Wdywd Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Suggesting Sergio Canales as a possible target I think we're alright in defence now, could maybe do with a holding midfielder, then a winger & a striker. The best bet is probably loans from the Prem, but since Sousa doesn't do them, they'll end up being frees. Unless any clubs accept monopoly money, in which case we've got about £10m of that.
goal-mangal Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Canales is definitely not coming to Championship. And Ben Khalifa, he just joined Wolfsburg, so he ain't a possible target either.
sdb Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Canales was a likely starter for Real until Ozil joined. Leicester City? I think not.
the new guy Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 What about Kapo? He's been released from Wigan after a fairly...quiet few years. He's a free transfer, and whilst i'm sure he'd want a fairly large pay package, maybe we're one of the 10 or so clubs looking at him? Its a long shot though. Thoughts? he is a good player would love to see him in a leicester shirt but is he better than Benjani Mwaruwari ?????????????
top cheese Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 Hi Everyone, I recently took a trip to the Leciester area and I loved the community and the football club. I am a Canadian so we dont regularly see any games other the a weekly EPL game and champions league stuff so this trip finnally gave me a club i could follow and support. I got the opporitunity to go to the training facility and catch some of the first team training and a session with the u18 team ( Beaglehole is a fine coach), and see two City games. I must say the supporters are first class on the road and at home. The first game I got to see was @ West Brom and i got to sit in between the blue army and the most passionate west brom fans. It was a real experience. Having a beer with the Birch was a real treat as well. Is there anywhere on the internet where you can link to a free stream of the leciester games? Its great to see the new owners are passionate about building the club and the grounds. I think though the club should buy wisely with the 10 million pounds and not just spend for the sake of spending. So they get players who are passionate about bringing this club back to the level they deserve. Most people here say that you need a new RB but im liking so far what the new signing there can offer. Moreno can fill in the DM slot that everyone wants when hopefully Tunchev returns. I think that with Hobbs and Tunchev in the middle that pairing could be argueably the best in the division. What i really think the club needs is a real game changer or someone who could really control the game from the midfield position. Koran would have given the club that. Heskey would be a nice pick-up as well, I thought his performance at the world cup was fantastic effort wise and that he could offer City the same if his wages are in line. Seems like there are alot of suggestions as to whom to sign with the money given to sousa and there are alot of quality ideas. I'll add a couple of more: GK: Sebastian Frei ( Toronto FC). Since Weale is injuried you might need another Keeper. Frei in young and is being watched by alot of european clubs. Even though it is MLS this guy has a real future in the European Game in the same class as Howard and Fredial etc. Iam Canadian so Jonathen De Guzman might be a decent addition i believe on Free Transfer from i think PSV. Could solve the winger problem. His brother Julien almost signed for middlesbourgh last year before coming home to play after a spectacular run at Deportivo. City might also be wise to look at the loan market particularly with some of the big clubs with alot of talented players. Seems like with the new roster rules there is alot of young players who could be in the need for a regular game. With Englands success in the u17 and u19 tournaments maybe there could be a loan agreement or two from that group that could help. But please stay away from Benjani.........
Narborough_fox Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 Jay Eamnual-Thomas, can chip in with a few. Play all over the midfield and would get stuck in. Even on a loan good signing.

Aumski Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 Yeah because a player who would give us a better chance of promotion would be a bad thing!! no point, keane took him to the prem, flopped there, but he does fire in the championship, i dont think anybody want's a migit that can't hack the bigtime.

Jimmy Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 hi, i'm new. i haven't introduce myself yet. http://home.kyodo.co.jp/modules/fstStory/index.php?storyid=518639 Sorry for my bad english according to Wiki he's a defensive midfielder, central defender or full back
mitsuo Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 yes i know him well because i'm a fan from japan national team. he was at the WC. Nobody have another sources in english?
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/players/player=188456/profile.htmlYuki Abe
mitsuo Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 He is a central midfielder or defensive midfielder. For Japan national team, he played central defender or winger and sometimes in midfield. At the world cup, he played behind Hasebe and endo. When he was at JEF United chiba, he was a playmaker and when he moved to Urawa, he played DF or central mdf. He is a FK expert like Endo or Honda
The Doctor Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 no point, keane took him to the prem, flopped there, but he does fire in the championship, i dont think anybody want's a migit that can't hack the bigtime. so have him for a season or two in order to get up, then flog him on to the highest bidder

Aumski Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Hull-want-rid-of-Peter-Halmosi-and-his-700k-a-year-wages-article561877.html love to see halmosi at the king power 14.5k a week! are you serious! no thanks.
Narborough_fox Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 DaMarcus Beasley is still without a club he's a quality left winger and still only 28 Thats a shout, saw him a couple of times for Rangers and he would be brilliant in this league. Not sure on wages but would still be a great signing.
ollie b Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 I have just had a read of the sun's GOALS sport supplement which comes free and in a section called nicos news it claims we are trying to agree a deal with Preston shaun st.ledger for "2-3million if we can raise the money". I personal rate St.ledger very high and I think he is just what Paulo wants a defender who has the ability to play his way out of defence. what does everyone else think? sorry there is no link/thread as its in the paper
Guest Bilo Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 Sean St. Ledger for £2m from Preston apparently. £2m for a defender?! Harsh.
