Fosse Boys - Leicester City Ultras

I think we've made it pretty clear that we're going to be putting as much emphasis on traditional City songs and innovative English-style songs as we do on Euro-style chants. Please feel free to start your own group if you're not happy with what we're doing though...

I think you missed the point

No - I actually come on here every day, read your dribble and don't really have an opinion, but with the events of late I just got fed up with you banging on about how you're going to create your own site and create your own logos and create your own songs and only allow people to join you if they sing non-stop for 90 minutes.

There is not a worse time for you to try this - we need all fans to rally behind the team from pre-season onwards, singing our Leicester songs - not you singing your euro-pop in the corner and alienating the rest of the fans (I listened to the songs you posted on here a couple of weeks ago and not one of them was a traditional song)

Football's not about you and your 'Fosse Boys', it's about Leicester City so why don't you go and work something out on that basis?

Your picture is ridiculous - that's like saying are you communist or BNP, though I'm sure if you take your head out of the clouds you'll realise that

i'm not going to turn this thread into an argument about what we are doing

the majority of the people on here understand that what we are trying to achieve and that it can only benefit the atmosphere at the walkers

everyone apart from you...

i'm not sure why you are getting so upset about it all to be fair

why dont you make a club and only invite people who sing a couple of times during a game

and alienate us?

because in my eyes, the two types of fans at leicester have always been seperated, the people who want to sing and the people who dont

the difference is, people who dont want to sing can go where they want and will be surrounded by people like them

so why the hell cant we do the same?

i'd just like to point out that your opinion is pretty worthless to me, and nothing you say will change what we are trying to do

Can you really see this happening? Honestly? We needed the support of Filbert Street for the play-off semi against Cardiff, and while the Kop did improve greatly they weren't on the same scale as the Cardiff fans in the reverse fixture (sad but true). They are in a new stadium like ours yet they made far more noise than we did. My point is, the players didn't get the support when they needed it then...what makes you think they'll get it now? While I'm all for a great atmosphere at the WS I'm resigned to the fact it won't be anything special. There are just too many people that refuse to sing for whatever reason.

It brings back the whole 'move the kop' argument again - this is the only realistic way of creating a decent atmopshere for everyone at the WS. What we are doing is creating our own atmospehere. Yes we want as many people with us as possible and we're hoping that the colour and noise we'll make will encourage other people to wake up and join in (with us; OR the Kop; OR L1 - anything to help create an atmosphere). The last thing any Leicester fan should be thinking or feeling is "stuff the home games I'll wait for the decent away games/atmopshere." Let's be real, there weren't too many of those decent away games last season.

The Peterborough game at home was great in L1. I took a Forest fan to that game (my old man can't make mid week games due to work) and he said to me "God, is it like this every week here?" "Sadly not " I replied. There was plenty of singing and jumping around all game, and when we did the Ring of Fire (like it or hate it), we jumped up and down for a good 20 mins. I wish we could do that every game, but it just doesn't happen. So surely another section of the ground singing and actively supporting Leicester City is a good thing? Maybe the people inbetween the singing sections might join in to create 1 big section of noise. Surely that's the aim for everyone, whether we're singing 'euro-pop' or original Leicester songs. No one is trying to alienate anyone, just encouraging them to sing up for the boys.

How do you change anything unless you start a group though?

Leicester is the same as most grounds in the UK... silent. Singers are spread out all around the stadium.

Unless you come together in a certain group it will never change.

Why you care so much about whether there are songs from other parts of europe or england is equally as baffling, you criticize them for being exclusive but then suggest they should just sing exclusively english songs?

I dont really see your point. Of course its exclusive its exculsve to those who want to create an atmosphere if that doesnt bother you why do you post on this thread?

I really can't believe you said that, our support at home is embarrassing because in my view there's too many sit down, keep quiet types that go, I'm not saying that's wrong but there are a few of us that would like a bit more fun at the games and cheer on the boys regardless of result, how we are playing etc. how the bleeding hell can that be a bad thing :dunno:

sometimes I really do wonder what goes through some peoples minds :crylaugh:

Hang on... That's what I do every week!

Are you saying that the only way to do that is by becoming a Fosse Boy?

you can carry on doing what you are doing

we dont affect you and you dont affect us

'How do you change anything unless you start a group though?'

What I would say is that you need to bring in a sense of unity, which I'm worried this sort of group wouldn't

'Unless you come together in a certain group it will never change.'

Do you think this group will help that situation? Genuine question

'Why you care so much about whether there are songs from other parts of europe or england is equally as baffling, you criticize them for being exclusive but then suggest they should just sing exclusively english songs?'

I may have had a few digs at the 'euro-pop', but if you re-read my posts there's nothing about them being 'exclusively english'. The point I'm making is they should be songs that everyone knows

Creating an atmosphere is exactly what I want, it's the 'brand' that scares me

How will a group not bring a sense of unity to the people in it?

The whole reason we are posting songs is so that people can learn them, its part of the football culture we believe in, not only stick with the old songs but make new ones. When was the last time a good chant was created and sung by the masses. Its easier to create new chants as a group than as 5 pissed up late-teens/early twenties on the back row!?

There are new songs all the time...the Maxi Gradel song for example. Not everyone knew the words to that until it was aired a few times, then more and more people pick up on it. That's what we're hoping will happen with some of these newer songs. Surely more variety is better than the generic ones? Don't get me wrong I love the original songs and will always sing my heart out. But I am always open to new songs/chants/actions, why not?

As you quote 'when you're smiling' I'll make a comment about that particular song. I love it, but there are alot of people who don't know the words to it because it's sang at warp factor 10. When we sing it (and we will) we'll do it slowly, just like the 'oh when the blues' that was sang in the same style at Cardiff - awesome. I don't think we're as anti traditional songs as you think we are.

I think you talk a lot of sense and are correct about the atmosphere at the Walkers, I guess we just differ in our approaches as to what should be done about it.

What a load of dribble. Sounds like somebody's a little jealous.

I can't believe you're knocking lcfc-arab et all for trying something pro active and trying to improve the library atmosphere that is the Walkers. You're asking for fans to rally behind the team well this is exactly what their doing.

What you've written makes you look like a spiteful bitter twat.

Seriously, what the fvck happened to this thread today?

We aren't exclusive, that's the point. If you want to stand and sing for 90 minutes, you're welcome. How much more inclusive would you like us to be?

Standing and singing for 90 minutes every week is the very best way that fans can behind the team so I literally have no clue what point Houdini is trying to make. As for the traditional songs, we'll be singing them. In fact, they'll be the most commonly sung ditties.

I can only assume you've misunderstood the group mate.

Thank you to Houdini logic, you have probably made everyone even more intent on making the Fosse Boys a success. Please carry on with you illogical and negative comments as that's the type of thing that brings people together. Also the fact that nobody has had a go at you shows how serious the main contributors to the Fosse Boys are about getting things right. Well done lads.

It's that sort of attitude that will taint your group

I would like to see fans being encouraged to get behind their team, not told to fook off if they don't sing for 90 minutes.

I'm not fully convinced isn't an excuse for a set of individuals to create a group to make themselves feel that little bit special, rather than a group that's going to do everything it can to get behind the team and make sure everyone else does.

I don't understand the need for a name and I don't understand the need for a new foxes face.

What you've written makes you look like a spiteful bitter twat.

See point 1

Mate just chill out

its just some fun

it will improve my enjoyment of home games alot

and will do the same to everyone involved

we have got a name and a badge like many other ultra and supporter groups from around England, Europe and the entire world

But you can't tell people to 'fook off' if they stand near you and don't sing - you should encourage them!

And what about people that don't want to sing or are too shy?

Let's hope I have misunderstood this group.

If this turns out to be a beneficial thing to the club and our atmosphere then I will have no reservations in saying so.

I've expressed my main concerns and don't want to go on and no

Apologies because I haven't attached the poles yet, but you get the general idea.

I'm not part of the group, I just think your attitude stinks and your attack on the group was un called for.

I would like to see fans being encouraged to get behind their team, not told to fook off if they don't sing for 90 minutes.

Hence the whole point in the group. Typing a message on foxestalk stating that you'd like fans to be encouraged to get behind the team will not achieve anything. The fact is this group is pro actively trying to do something about it through a step which is untried and untested at LCFC. If it works their onto a winner, if it doesn't well at least they tried.

The way you go on you'd think that you have the answer to creating a top atmosphere but yet you fail to mention these ideas, instead you'd rather make negative stabs at the group because you feel left out when the group is actively welcoming new members. What I don't get is this group is trying to do exactly what you're complaing about but yet you keep shooting them down.
